Right there with ya. Tom Cruise has gotten to the point that I can no longer see him as anything BUT Tom Cruise. No matter who he's playing onscreen, no matter how good his acting might be (and it's not good, ever), all I can do is look and say, "Oh - it's Tom Cruise."
At which point, he's lost me ever wanting to see him in anything. I got suckered into "Eyes Wide Shut" because I love Kubrick's work, but that movie just plain sucked. Not even Nicolle Kidman running around naked could save that one - because every time SHE was naked, here came ol' Tom Cruise!
