Is it just me? I watched the pilot and was awesomely underwhelmed...does it get drastically better or something, cause I smell a lot of re-hash comin' off this series...

It gets better (IMHO, of course).

It hits all the things about the Terminator franchise that I like (the looming apocalypse, the need to change destiny, the war being fought in secret [complete with conspiracy theiry undertones], the use of real-world robotics and science, the idea that anyone could be involved [either as a Resistance fighter or an undercover Terminator]), and avoids the stuff I don't (Terminator 3 ).

Plus: Summer. (And Zack & Silent Ash on the writing staff.)

Go ahead and watchthe rest of the first season, I am very picky about my tv shows, and this one literally made chills run up my spine in several scenes. It does get better

It's...ehhh..... There are a few really good moments in the story arc that make it worthwhile, but there is a lot of mediocrity to wade through.

Still, I liked it enough to buy it on iTunes as it aired. And I'd probably buy it again when the new season comes back.

The series got better as it rolled on. Not leaps and bounds better, but better.

They bring in the "Vanilla Ice wanna-be" from 90210 as a character, that storyline is decent.

I havent seen this yet, i was going to get it on dvd sometime next week but having seen the average reviews from you guys then i may give it a miss depends how boring tv gets here or i may wait until the rugby league season finishes and get it then.

I watched it, but it wasn't real high on my list of "must-see TV" stuff. If I watched, it was out of boredom; I'd usually let 3 or 4 episodes pile up on my DVR before I got bored enough to watch. I can't picture sitting and waiting for each episode week by week, like I do for "Burn Notice" for example (and that's not even one of my favorite-favorites, just a show I rather like).

I put "The Sarah Connorcles" in the ranks of shows I'll have around if there's nothing on and it's too hot to do anything outside. I would never consider buying it on DVD. And I think Summer Glau is horribly underutilized on that show - though not as badly as she was on The 4400 when she was on it. :(

You can tell that they were following closely to the T2 setup for the first handful of episodes but it does evolve as it goes along plus there's a lot of potential setup from the first series. To dismiss it now would be like rubbishing Star Trek: TNG because the first few episodes were pretty derivative nonsense.

Summer's character is the highlight and I'm not just saying that because she's our girl. Cameron is graceful, powerful, unfathomable and darkly funny. She looks like the most vulnerable girl imaginable yet she can act like the coldest of ice maidens.

The show hasn't really exploded... yet. But it took until the middle of season 2 for Buffy to hit the heights with Angel turning to Angelus, Jenny's death and the Oz/Willow/Xander/Cordelia relationship rhomboid. Let's give it a change.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I'll continue to watch it, and hope that it turns into the show it could be if Joss were behind it!

It just hasn't climbed into the ranks of my "first-tier" shows, shows like Supernatural, Chuck, Reaper, Life, The Shield, or Burn Notice. It's really not even in the second tier, with shows like Swingtown, Journeyman (gone), Heroes, New Amsterdam (gone), or Eureka. It's somewhere below those, in my viewing heirarchy.

I'm really interested to see how they dance between the show, which is Sarah's story, and the new movie franchise, which is John's.

I think the show sets a good foundation for a long, secret battle--one that Sarah can win repeatedly and yet never win. How can she know, anyway? Will Cameron just disappear?

(Speaking of which, I want to know why future John sent a hot robot to his teenage self.)

The first season, crushed as it was between the need to be an immediate 'hit' and a looming writer's strike, DOES improve.

I especially enjoyed the episodes toward the end of the season, with duel story lines in different time periods.

Of course, FOX is already forcing the producers to comply to their idea of a show, (John's girl in season 2, etc.) proving that their new executives fill the same old suits. Meet the new boss, I guess.

But the main reason it shouldn't be terminated is:

My God, you're as bad as the networks for even asking! You post every day on a genre-show-site that was summarily canceled. (Extolling the virtues of Stargate Atlantis, I might add.) Don't you know how difficult it is to get a quality show of this style on the air? It needs improvement, sure, but the window is open NOW. We need to encourage FOX by watching, and maybe help the producers by posting in 'official' places.

This show has gobs of potential, like a house full of slayers, and just needs to have the right bit of magic to make it happen. Don't go all Chloe on it yet.
