Chris,

It's a good show. Stick with it. You won't get a lot of laughs, there are a few, but then the movies weren't a barrel of laughs either.

This show has issues, which I'll enumerate in a min, but it also has highlights. It's the only thing I'm watching constantly at the moment, it's the only real fight the power with intelligence king of show

Cons:

1. The main problem is that when they have a good idea, they don't stick with it. There are really interesting twists, and then they abandon them.
2. It is humorless for the most part. After a while, you get used to is. It's pretty on a par with T2.
3. Some of the characters are dead weight, and unfortunately, one of them is John. They really need to work on some development and get away from this messianic notion that he's the key to survival, he needs to start acting like it. At the moment, I think humanity is safer in Sarah's hands.

Pros:
1. Summer, aka Cameron steals the show, and when they know what they're doing, they let her do it. Summer loves the role, and said it was intimidating at first. Now she wants to stay there. This is probably one of the most complex characters to hit the TV screen, when the writers use it. Ironically, the most complicated character I'd say on screen is River Tam, and I think this is more than just Summer being hot.
2. The action scenes are great, and they never stop. You're never sure who the good guys are or what they're up do. It's just at least mindless entertainment, and at times, it thinks.
3. The show is leading a storyline forward through time, and sometimes possibly scrambling time, towards an increasingly different world. Any TV show that doesn't fall into the star trek "put everything back where you found it" model has earned its right to be on the air.

Whether or not it lives up to its potential remains to be seen, but I personally think it's awesome, with a few kinks to be ironed out.

Actually, overall, I considered saying this, but I don't know her agenda. The ending of the last slide bothered me. I hate it when characters get into terrible situations by being stupid.

I get Riley is making a big sympathy play, and trying to eclipse Cameron. I think Cameron is on her own agenda, I'm not convinced John sent her back. She can say whatever she wants. I don't think she's working for skynet, or they wouldn't target her, but she definitely does more than protect him, I think that she is trying to influence him down a different path. We might be safer in her hands.

The whole messiah thing is bugging me. ATM, I don't see what's so special. I mean, if someone frags John and Derek becomes commander, I don't see things being all that different for the human resistance.

Also, I wonder if the writers have considered the lack of skynet's control over its own more sophisticated agents in the past. It's sort of like the ant out of the colony. I know that stray ants sometimes reproduce by having 'unauthorized sex' which carries a stiff penalty, and do other aberrant things. Rogue terminators is an entirely possible scenario.

Also, it's occurred to me that to get rid of Riley all Cameron would have to do is boink John. He's a sixteen year old boy, hot robosex would do it for him. She's have to remember not to kill him at the end. Old habits die hard.

With this being the most recent thread I could find re: TTSCC, I'll post this here and hope it's not threadjaqcking.
Another thread mentioned how some shows are just about actor hotness. I think Summer is the hottest of the Terminators.
One thing that always bothered me, and I wondered if I wasn't being too shallow. In T3: Rise of the Machines, there is a terminatrix. Kristanna Loken was pretty hot, and she was cast. However, after being cast and told she would have a nude scene as a terminator, she went on some drastic weight-loss diet and lost all body fat until her chest sagged to droopiness. HELLLOOOO! Terminator? Terminators are artificial!! Terminators would be designed to have droopy chest? Then there is the scene where she inflates her chest and cleavage. But she arrives with droopy. I was really disappointed. Didn't care what her nekkid bits looked like, but it was completely unfaithful to the storyline and role.
One thing that is better about having Summer. Maybe they learned their mistakes and cast somebody not overdeveloped in that area - but still hot.

Anyway, good point. Summer makes a more interesting terminator char. because she has been building on the ambiguities. I would not be averse to more nude scenes :)

They're designed to pass as human. Human women sometimes have droopy chests. I don't see any problem with it.

I would agree with the perv position in favor of anti-grav. Arnie was not picked for the role initially because of his acting resume. It's his ability to be a convincing cold blooded killer built to perfection.

I'm just saying, reverse the image, now picture and replace that sixpack with a sagging beer belly :)

Actually, he was originally up for the role of Reece. Lance Henrickson was going to play The Terminator.
