A bit of high profile publicity cant hurt if we can get a firefly cast member helping the cause.

I know of these ones

http://alantudyk.org/

I they're all fan sites though, I don't think the actors have any input.

I think Nathan and Jewel are pretty avid myspace users, that could be a good place to start as well.

btw this Jewel Staite's official site:

In a previous post someone mentioned that Nathan Fillion and Jewel Staite use my space a bit, if anyone with an account on there wants to visit their page and leave some info regarding what we are planning that would be good, I dont use my space or face book so dont have an account.

Okay, I have a website address set up: http://savefirefly.atspace.com

There's nothing there right now. Give me at least a few hours before you see any content or graphics.

I'll be sure to post a link to this thread in particular.

I (rarely) use myspace, but I have an account. I’ll friend them up, and once we have formalized this idea a bit more I’ll send them a message. Although, myspace being the borderline chaos that it is, they may never even read it.

So we have a website that's under construction. Should we start a forum just for the save firefly movement? I would be willing to head that one up.

Sending an email is a good idea. We could make a template that everyone who wants to restart firefly could send to everyone that they know. And so on and so forth. That's a great way to connect with lots of people.

As for myspace... I don't care for it much. Facebook and the other hand has a pretty good group system that we could take advantage of. (Even just by joining the firefly groups already up there and posting links to our movement page.)

The address I think we would need is this one:
Fox Television Studios
P.O. Box 900, Beverly Hills,
CA 90213-0900

(I got this from here: url= http://www.newscorp.com/management/foxtvstudios.html)

Actually, I have a forum set up too. I'll have that ready for us some time today hopefully.

If you go here: http://savefirefly.atspace.com/ you'll notice I've gotten started. I'm thinking of actually purchasing a domain (such as savefirefly.com).

So is the ultimate goal of this to get a BDS or to try and get the show back on the air?

Also, just came across this, I'm sure some of you have seen it already though.

Yes he says its not happening as nobody is knocking on his door, but he also says that if they were just like summer glau he would do it in a heart beat. Therefore he still must have the disire to do something with firefly and the cast would like to do something to by the sound of it. I know some people have knocked this idea of trying to get firefly to the front of tv bosses minds again saying its a waste of time but i say if you dont try then you will never know. Not having a dig at anyone but like i said we can only try to do this and see what the outcome is, it wont hurt anyone and if it does work then great if it doesnt work we havent lost anything.

Yeah, I don't see this article as discouraging in any way. I knew nobody WAS doing it, I just wanted to know if Joss would WANT to do it, given the opportunity, and it sounds like he would. That is enough for me.

As for some of the underlying fear here that it is a waste of time... Well, don't get me wrong by my posting here: There is not even a sliver of me that thinks this is actually going to happen. But you know what? I don't care! And that doesn't make it a waste of time! If we try and fail, then we will still have succeeded in showing that the Signal is still out there, and the Signal is US. True, it might be the same 14-episode Signal, put on loop, replaying over...and over...and over... But it is STILL going strong. Since I got into the show, I've created at least 4 converts, so I know firsthand that our numbers are still growing. And once you're in Serenity, you never leave, so we know our numbers will never shrink. (I do say, though, we should take our time and do this thing right. I don't want to blow our chances by going off half-cocked, since we might be down to our last round, here.)

I can THINK, even KNOW, with every part of my brain that this isn't going to work, but that doesn't stop the HOPE in my heart that it might just happen. After all, the 'Verse smiles on those who keep fighting for a lost cause. So, I say, let's rally. One last surge to hold the line against the darkness. One last push out into the Black. If we try and fail, we're out a little time, a little coin, and maybe some poeple will call us crazy. But if we never try at all, what are we then? I'd rather be a nut than a quitter.

Remember, you can't take the sky from me! The world's gonna see it, too. 'Cause they need to.

To quote another great sci-fi writer who never quit fighting for his story: "If you're falling off a cliff, you might as well try to fly. You haven't got anything to lose."

"When you can't do somethin' smart, do somethin' right!" -Jayne Cobb quotes Shepherd Book
