I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for which Buffy Novels are worth reading and which ones are best avoided. Thanks.

some of them are really bad, but I sent them off to Goodwill and I don't remember those titles....

These Our Actors by Ashley McConnell and Dori Koogler is really fun if you like Willow and Spike (set during Season 5, Buffy is too busy w/Glory & Mom & Dawn to be around to help Willow...).

Christopher Golden has written a lot of good novels, and my favorites in the Buffyverse are:
OZ: Into The Wild and Spike & Dru: Pretty Maids All In A Row

There are also a few early comic books that I loved, written by Jane Espenson (who was a staff writer for Mutant Enemy and wrote many of my favorite episodes, including 'Shindig' for Firefly) as well as Amber Benson (who played Tara) working with Christopher Golden on a number of wonderful comic books...

It is fun to explore these, even when you don't like the writing, or the way they deal with the characters, it can still be fun!

But not canon....

I finished "Dark Congress" just recently, which was very good--especially if you're a Willow/Tara fan. "The Lost Slayer" is probably still the best one I've read, and I'll second the recommendation of "These Our Actors", which was also pretty good.

If you like Faith, then "Go Ask Malice" absolutely shouldn't be missed, and "Blackout" is a really good one about Nikki Wood, Spike, and Robin, set in 1977...

Thanks for your replies. It sounds like there are some good ones to follow up on. I have read "Here be Monsters", which was fair and "Deathless" which was enjoyable enough. "Blackout" is the only other Buffy novel I've read and I thought it was the best of the three.
