I get the distinct impression that Bushie has a wheel set up in the Oval Office, which he spins to get the excuse of the day for why we invaded Iraq in the first place, and then the Administration sends that excuse du jour out to all the little Bushites like 'Rappy in their morning "talking points" memo.

"Okay, today the reason was WMD."

"It was never WMD - it was about spreading democracy!"

"It was to free the Kurds!"

"No, it was about the Oil-for-Food scandal, and we had to make sure that no one was profiteering off Iraq except AMERICAN companies!"

"It's about fighting them here and there!"

"It's about Iran, and it always was. Anything else would just be foolish."

"Don't ask us - it was Congress's idea in the first place, and we never even wanted to do it."

"We had to, because the UN is useless. And if they try to stop us, we'll use our veto power to show them how powerful we are."

"Ooooh, look - that guy's burning a flag!! Kill him! KILL HIM!!!"

"Saddam was killing his own people - and only WE get to kill his own people, dammit!"

"Daddy tol' me to..."

"Because George Tenet is evil, and tricked me into it."

"Becuase we know Osama is in Pakistan, so we have to invade Iraq."

"I don't know what you're talking about. Iraq? Never heard of it. I don't recall."

"Because we don't torture."

"Because gays shouldn't marry."

"Because I support the troops, just as long as we don't try to give them benefits, health care, or any actual SUPPORT."

"It's un-American to even ask why."

This is why the founding fathers didnt want us to mess in the affairs of other lands.

Why can't we stop being the worlds policemen?

Too many times, those in charge believe they "know whats best for all".

That happens here all the time.

They are ALWAYS wrong.

Until we start taking care of business at home (i.e. restoring our freedoms, cutting back on the powers of the government and the state, stop giving our money to foreign lands ect ect " we can't lead the world.

And by the lead the world, I mean by example.

You cannot be that obtuse, or so helplessly in denial NOT to know that Iran is the Motherland of Worldwide Terrorism. They are behind Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, etc etc etc. They start wars with their de-facto agents of terror. Everything that is blown up in the world originates in Iran. They say EVERY DAY they want to destroy America & Israel. You and your ilk refuse to believe this...ok, fine, don't believe...but please don't be so absurdly naive not to know where all the trouble in the world comes from.

Okay, so being an official (or even unofficial) state sponsor of terrorist attacks is evil, right?

Where were you during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan? How about the wars in Nicaraugua, El Salvador, and anywhere else in Central and South America that you can name? Where was your righteous indignation and your moral high horse when it was AMERICANS who were either leading the attacks or cheerleading them from the sidelines?

So now that someone else in this shitty world wants to play our game, our way, by OUR rules, we get all put out about it, right?

Typical.

Not really no. Saudi Arabia probably supports more than they do, and the US in it's time defiantly has, so it's hardly a really firm indicator.

Ignorant people spouting off hate speech and demands for 'pre-emptive' military action, right?

Come on, you're just pissed they over threw your puppet government.

Can't wait to see the first city nuked by Iran...we have a betting pool in the office. If it's your city, or your friend's city, don't come-a-cryin' to Bush & Cheney.

Talk about naiive and obtuse...

How's that betting pool work? 'Cause I'll put a million dollars that Iran doesn't nuke ANY city in the next dozen years. What kind of odds will you give me on that?

This is just the kind of useless, unsupported, baseless, juvenile fearmongering the Bush Administration has rejoiced in over the last eight years. And it's pure bullshit, from start to finish. It just don't add up, period. Think about it - you're the president of a nation, and you finally get your atom bomb - what's the very first thing you're going to do? Of course! You just HAVE to nuke the living shit out of somebody, right? And it had better damned well be Israel, because everybody knows you've sworn to end them.

So why doesn't it add up? Because you have one ATOMIC bomb, and you're going up against Israel with their dozens of HYDROGEN bombs. In case you weren't aware of the difference, it's an order of magnitude. Literally. Atomics weapons such as the ones recently developed by North Korea have yields measured in kilotons (x1000 tons of TNT); hydrogen bombs have yields measured in megatons (x1,000,000 tons of TNT).

Okay, so you've got your li'l bomb, comparable to, or smaller than, the one the US dropped on Hiroshima (about 4.5 kilotons). Your first action will be to use it, which will virtually GUARANTEE that you, your race of people, your culture, your society, your country, and even your history, will be wiped from the face of the planet as if they'd never existed in the first place. That will be the Israeli reaction to ANY nuclear strike by Iran or any terrorist group supported by Iran. Iran will simply cease to be.

So you're Iran, and you can't wait to hasten your end, right? Suuuuuuuuuure... You've bought into the whole jihadi thing a little too deeply. You think that every single person who calls himself a Muslim is in a hurry to martyr himself or herself to meet Allah. That's as stupid as thinking that every single Christian is just dying to, well, DIE. They fear pain and death just like anyone else, and often what you see in suicide attacks is someone who simply has nothing left to live for.

I know you can't accept that Iranians are actual, real PEOPLE, just because they're a slightly different color than you, but they really are in no giant hurry to have themselves obliterated from the planet.

What they want, more than anything, is a seat at the Big Boys' table - and that is only granted to nations with (a) lots of oil, or (b) nuclear weapons, or (c) both of the above.
