For what it's worth, here's a link to the original article: http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_7779.shtml
Anyway, I'm pretty sure the quote's been dismissed as fake. At best it would be hearsay. Kind of surprising that somebody would make up a quote like this; Bush has made so many gaffes that I wouldn't think it necessary to invent more ... must've been a slow news day.

Yeah ... that Capitol Hill Blue piece is what I was referring to - "third-hand nonsense". That is the story that all others lead back to. Total hearsay, at best.
I figured the quote was pure BS.
And, yeahhh, I agree with the sentiment that President Bush certainly has a "way" with english, to put it in the mildest possible terms.
On the other other hand, he seems to do well when he speaks off-the-cuff...

I demand an apology for this thread. After all if he were a white man (from Texas) you'd NEVER hear anyone mention his miscues or lack of verbalific stategery.

So now I'm a racist for pointing out some of those exact same things about Bush? Gaffes, inexperience, his family name ("I'm NOT a wimp! I'm NOT a wimp!" - and whatever happened to his brother Neil?), his questionable associations (Rove, Cheney, Gonzalez, Dummy Rumsfeld, et al).
Okay, I'll grant you Bush has never once had a well-spoken message, about hope or anything else.

Ahh - like the "slam dunk" comment about WMD, which has never been corroborated. Or like the complete and utter BS claims about WMD in the first place, which have been proven to be pure crap, not even "hearsay". Just fabrication.

Obama's a giraffe?!
Hell, I knew his dad was African, and I know Obama's tall, but I didn't know he was actually a giraffe!

The Bush Administration was responsible for verifying the WMD info (which they didn't do), but they did not develop the information. You know that, man ... c'mon. No doubt, they should have done ALOT more to check things out ... instead, they just took the ball an ran with it. Now they are reaping the whirlwind on that decision.
Barack Obama isn't that tall ... 6'1" ~ 6'2" ... hell, even this knuckledraggin' conservative has a few inches on him.
He doesn't seem like a bad guy ... it's just the whole "I'm gonna raise taxes on Big Business and Rich Folks" thing that puts me off. If he gets elected and then actually imposes the taxes on business as he proposes, what does he think those businesses will then do? They will just turn around and raise the prices of their goods/services ... which hits Joe Citizen right in the guts. Right? What am I missing?

Hey, it's not his fault. He's been weaned on the radical left-wing cesspool of Chicago Democrat politics since he entered public office. He really doesn't know any better. He and the misses have benefitted greatly from their willingness to cuddle up and play ball with the most vile and corrupt political landscape in America. Let's see...1 Governor in prison, and one on the way to prison....Convicted Felon Rezko deals which the Obama's profitted nicely from, Michelle's nice cushy politically-appointed $250,000 job, going to a church of hate for 20 years, writings of their adoration of Louis Farrakhan...yep...sounds to me like he's a "new" kind of politician all right....the kind the kool-aid network media closes their eyes to every day. The real funny thing is that as Obama moves further & further to the Right ( due to his "new kind of politics" desire to get elected ) he will alienate the far-left lunatic fringe, those that betrayed their once uber-Goddess Hillary, and then went, pan-flutes in hand, prancing over to Obama. By the time the election comes, you won't be able to tell him apart from McCain.
