Ok, so gas costs 4 bucks a gallon...you can't buy a house in a semi-decent area for less than 400 grand, and now food prices are going to go up....anyone seeing a problem with this?
Heres a question... with all of the inflated prices, how much do you have to make to live comfortably (a home, a car, and food) in your state?
I live in Va, and the truth is I would need to make AT LEAST 125 grand to afford a home (non-ghetto), a car and food. My wife would also need to make at least 50-60 on top of that.
To take care of kids too? Forget about it. At least 200-250.....

Move to Ohio. But generally speaking...stay out of the cities. Here you can get a great deal on a house for $130+. Then go to the local farmers market for produce at good prices.
My parents bought their house for $215 in 2002 and thankfully sold it for $190. Luckily they had Dad's corporation guarranteeing them a sale price so they broke even.
Medium income in this area seems to be $40-$50 and folks are doing well. In the neighboring big City the situation is far worse.

Here if you make less than 40 G's, you're in for a bad time. 75 will make you very very comfortable.

Well here in CT all you have to do is commit a felony...you get all of that for free minus the car....... $59,127 a year will get it done. Unless you are a smoker then $65,164 is needed....
