I am so glad I still get to work one day a week at afterschool care, while I go to University....I would go nuts if I didn't have kid contact. they crack me up, they piss me off, they make me think intelligently, they haven't yet morphed into beings that can mask themselves...I love it. I learn new things every time I'm with them. And we mostly have fun. Alot of my friends are actually scared of kids in the 5-12 age bracket...I don't get it.

You need to get back on the meds!
I find kids on the whole to be horrifying. Babies scare me - too fragile. Older kids - loud, repetitive, occassionally sticky. But then I have a low boredom threshold and a need for conversation of the smart-arse humour variety. (I am also not over-tall, and being loomed at by teens upsets me.)
Come to think of it, I don't like people much, either. Same reasons.

I agree, kids are awesome. There's not an age I don't mind being around. It's very refreshing to see the world fro their perspective.

I love kids... kids are hilarious, honest, and totally willing to play weird games and be silly. Adults have developed that annoying dignity problem and refuse to jump in puddles or chase bubbles.
Right at the moment when I need a pick me up, I listen to the voicemail message of my just turned one year old niece doing animal sounds... she gets so excited over the cat noise she mews for a good 15 seconds... it's hilarious

I love kids, other wise I'd hate myself.

Wo! ..I'm shortish, and nerdish, but big kids and teens seem to love me...it's all in your attitude with all kids, even bigger ones, if they smell fear or disregard they are gonna feed on you, they are lovable but essentially primal...think of them as mini Jaynes or Rivers, and maybe they won't seem so scary.Babies I'm a bit iffy about, but have relaxed a bit since my niece came along.

Oh, me, I couldn't stand kids even when I was one. :P It's a very harsh and negative rant that chances are none of you wants to hear, I'm sure. Throughout grade school I got into trouble that some other little fuckers started, and I haven't seen a whole lot to improve my opinion of the elementary/high-school age group....'course there is another bit to the equasion that ain't exactly beggin' to be touched on. So let's just leave it at I don't like kids, don't trust 'em, and definitely don't want any of my own - and yes, it's been said that it's always different with your own offspring, but....nah. Wouldn't much care to ruin their lives by making them think I hated them the same as all others.

I don't know if you could call them honest..Blunt to the point of cringy embarassment and outspoken yes, but honest no. Most kids I know will always try to get a lie in if they think they are going to get into trouble, or if they are aiming to get someone else in trouble or if they really really want something and that's the only solution they can think of...most of the time they will admit they're lying as they get the guilts.
