Have you ever had a boss that liked to micro-manage? Even with the best intentions, these people can do more harm than good by interfering where they are not needed.
Say Bush, after hearing about the attacks, politely excused himself from the classroom. What do you propose he could have done differently to alter the aftermath of the attacks? Would emergency services have arrived sooner? Would more people have been evacuated out of the twin towers to safety? Would we have known the attackers identities sooner? Would that have made any difference?
Please don't say that the attacks would have never happened in the first place if Bush was doing his job. That is not the point. You dislike Bush because of his actions on 9/11 and that is what is presently being discussed.

Well, I don't believe he got the full breifing on the whole situation right there in the classroom, so I'd say step one would be get off his ass and make sure he was aware of all available information.

So you do not have a problem with what Bush did, you have a problem with when Bush did it. If Bush had immediately run from the classroom and hid in his limo for half an hour, then you would be okay with his actions? There would be no tape of Bush in the classroom then.
