I'm curious as to how the hell they hope to get some of the stuff from the anime into live action. Though having seen the CGI in 'I, Robot', and that mental Bjork video, I can kind of see Ghost in the Shell.
One thing I do wish somebody would have a crack at, is the 'Neuromancer' trilogy. But it would need to be very true to the source material. (Because after 'Transformers', I want to see the Judge and the Corpsegrinder.)

Neuromance has been in development almost since it was published. It's changed hands from one production company to another a dozen times.
Right now, it's being developed by Joseph Kahn (director of the fairly horrible Torque - but he's shown in his music video work that he's a big fan of the cyberpunk style). Hayden Christensen is attatched to star as Case (take that as you will....).

As long as any version of "Neuromancer" doesn't look anything like "Johnny Mnemonic"... ;)
And Speilberg being attached to something isn't necessarily a good thing any more. I saw "War of the Worlds" (another remake!). Three words: Un. Freaking. Watchable. I want not only my money back, but my TIME back!
I'm officially one of those old farts on whom comix and graphic novels seem to be lost. I like watching some of the movies adapted from them, though, like "300" or "30 Days of Night". So for me, the movie versions actually get me interested in the graphic novel versions.
With the advances in CGI, I'd still love to see someone tackle Niven's "Ringworld" universe and his Known Space material... Or Clarke's "Rama" trilogy.

If any new series has a chance at being remade, it'll probably be the Death Note films...Though if that did ever happen I'd have to go Light Yagami on hollywood.

I can think of a few names you can add to that list, Zerokiryu. 
Though on the other hand, Death Note might actually be doable, at least what I've seen of it.

There isn't much more to add to that. Oddly enough, I could see Eric Szmanda as Case...
Of course, Summer Glau should be as shoe-in as Lady 3Jane.
