The GAO Reports on childrens residential facilities and boot camps are due today.
These cover both private, sponsored, and state owned facilities, but not private residential facilities which is a whole seperate can of worms.

The findings are, as expected, pretty damning, and one can only hope this leads to reforms within the industry.
Much credit to congressman George Miller for truly heroic efforts in getting some action on this front.

Of course the Federal government's response is that we need more Federal government oversight. Any alternatives?

Well, we could treat them as actual human beings, as people rather than something more on the order of livestock.
But yanno, somehow no one ever wants to hear that.
A lot of this is us adults blaming the dog for biting us after we kicked it, since they're less than equal and it's ok to treat them so in our society.
I just hope having it from an "official" source will help in forcing people to acknowledge horrors that have gone on for over twenty years now, only to be instantly dismissed as conspiracy no matter how much evidence was presented.
