Universal apparantly is gearing up for a new movie. Here's what I found.

FILMING BEGINS ON VERSE
Shooting has started on a new sci-fi film called "The Verse". The movie is a follow-up to Joss Whedon's "Serenity" which received less than stellar box office numbers in the fall of 2005.
Whedon is better known for his TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Serenity" was based on another Whedon's TV show called "Firefly" which was cut by FOX after only 13 episodes were filmed.
Our source from Universal says, "We thought Serenity would do better than it did at the box office, but DVD sales have been phenomenal, so we decided to give the fans a little more of the storyline."
Though there will be cameos from former cast members, fans will be disappointed to learn that the only cast member returning will be Summer Glau as River, who is available in between shooting her new series "The Sarah Conner Chronicals."
The story, from what we gather, involves River hooking up with a wacky new crew and trying to maintain her newly-found sanity.
"We know fans will be disappointed at first, but we believe they will love this new movie."
The new crew includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, taking time-out from his gubernatorial role in California, returning in a role similar to that of the first Terminator movies. "We thought Arnold would make a good replacement for Jayne."
Schwarzenegger will be backed by the Olsen twins, sisters on board who just can't seem to get along.
Trying to maintain order on his ship through miscellaneous adventures, will be captain Nell Gringo played by fitness guru Richard Simmons.
"This movie will be a barrel of laughs a minute," said our source. "Look for it to hit theaters by the spring of 2009."
