there is somewhat of an explanation for that one. Jack has "factory settings" so to speak, meaning that when he sustains damage, his body resets to its previous, undamaged state. If that works for physical damage, then it's also possible that it could work for mental damage as well. Though it would be interesting to see if there are some long-term effects, like perhaps claustrophobia.

now that torchwood has ended series 2, anyone care to make guesses as to the new cast members for series 3?

Ugh. I certainly hope not. I never really liked him all that much.

It'll be interesting to see what they do end up doing next series, though.

Or maybe its like the cheerleader from Heroes - he doesn't revive until the cause of death is removed. Sadly, however, I fear it is just lazy plotting: he's gonna be tortured for eternity: hey, he escapes after only 1800-or-so years - so that's OK then!

Likewise: I really don't think nuclear power plants go into meltdown because someone cuts the power to the off-site server. Also, I'm not a nuclear engineer, but I'm pretty sure that the point of a containment building is that it *contains* the nuclear reactor (or fails to) without relying on the hacking skills attractive-but-socially-awkward young Asian lady and her unrequited zombie lover.
