kwickie - Sorry, but that op/ed column by Dr Britt is pattenly wrong. Fascism is, as you correctly pointed out, the Gov't control of private business. It's not 'communism', which is out right Gov't ownership of commercial industry. That's where the 'STATE' owns and runs the farms, the factories, etc... in Fascism, the private sector " owns " the business, but is strictly controled by the State. Hmmmmm... Funny - only ONE of the nations on your list is also on the list of nations on whom we have trade embargoes. The US isn't the "leader" in human rights recognistion, either. You have to accept that there are colors other than black and white, and that most issues are shaded grey. The fact that we're not the WORST in human rights violations certainly doesn't instantly vault us to the top of the list as the "leader". Several other nations lead us in the human rights realm, among them Denmark, Sweden, France, and Canada.
And I love your bit about "fraternity pranks". Just which fraternity were the detainees being hazed into? Can I pull such a "fraternity prank" on your wife, your daughter, or your mother? Please?
