At about 1 in the morning a taxi dropped off a young woman who'd been drinking downtown and she promptly threw up on the sidewalk and collapsed for a little lie-down in said pool of bile and liquor (it was pretty clear she'd not eaten anything... possibly all day). Her friends put her in a cab in that condition and sent her back by herself - that really made me mad, but that's a separate and irrelevant story. She was still somewhat conscious and knew what room she was in. Up stairs of course. I half-carried/half-walked her down the hall, and when I got to the bottom of the stairs and looked up, my first thought was - to steal a Kayleeism - "I tried to get her up the stairs. She was just... *heavy*." I did manage to get her up there, though. I just felt bad that when she couldn't crawl, she couldn't find one of her so-called "friends" to carry her.

You are somewhat of a big damn hero for doing the "right" thing by that poor girl, despite her probably bein' a bit on the aromatic side...
My latest Firefly moment came this past Saturday after my son washed and waxed my car. My sister said, "It's so shiny!" I just said, "Ain't it just."

Well, my shift finishes at 7.... I could smell bile ALLLLLL night, 'cause I got some on my shirt. The next night I actually had alot more problems with rowdy people and such, but since everyone kept their bodily fluids to themselves I actually counted it as an improvement.

Ah... today on the way to work, I saw a guy in a coat that happened to be brown. Reminded me of Mal, and how cool it might be to have an actual long, fitted brown coat. So I mentioned this to my friend who works with me (who also, btw, got me interested in Firefly, wonderful girl) and we proceeded to talk about how neat it would be to find a coat.
We were loud.
If the man in the brown coat didn't give us the weirdest look in the world... I don't know who could.

I entirely forgot about the Serenity Prayer!
This is what happens each time I say it in my head:
"God, grant me the Serenity...
ummm, where was I? Oh, yeah...
God, grant me the Serenity
to accept the things I cannot change (Fox
)
Courage to change the things I can,
(I [and MANY others] helped get the movie to be made!)
and Wisdom to know the difference..."

I grabbed the mail yesterday afternoon and started giggling when I noticed the postmark on my electric bil: Canton, OH!

I had another Firefly moment the other day. I had to do a last minute speech to a class of newly hired guys and as I described my position I told them they would soon learn the chain of command. I had to stop myself from laughing.

I love Felix' stuff. My friend, Patricia, sews all my gowns (the gorgeous gold satin Ren Gown and my Raspberry Velvet Kate Gown). Felix offered her a job last summer - she couldn't take it because she was pregnant with Aidan.
Glad to know you have excellent taste, Chainnain.

The other day in Physics one of my classmates was sitting there talking his head off about some of the dumbest things and I got fed up with it after awhile and said, "Roger, your mouth's talking, you might want to see to that." Then I started laughing uncontrollably.
