Belly
Strabismus (a squint)
Disdiadokokenesis (which means the inability to make rapid alternating movements due to cerebellar lesions)
Cachexia (extreme tissue wasting of chronic disease)
Shindig
Bellatrix (a female warrior)
Coconut
Inshallah (God willing in Arabic and the answer to every deadline request in the Gulf region....)
Rhonci (a wheeze)
Homonymous (the same on both sides)
Bumble
Wierd-ass
Silly
Declofenac, Ramoxifen, Sulfasalzine and many other drug names which bear no resemblence to what the damn things do and just sound really cool.

The list could go on..

Banter is rapidly escalating up my list. People around me say they are going somewhere "just for the banter" or "just for the crack" which is an Irish word I believe meaning fun. Banter is also used in replacement for "chat".
Using "twigged" to mean that you totally just understood something "then I twigged that was what he meant" which is a great word and from the Gaelic!

New balls please....

I'm not reading through the entire thread, so if I'm repeating, I apoligize.

Swirligigs! is my all-time fav, but others I like are
Abydos
Falcon
Gryphon
Fire

they just have a certain poetry feeling. I'm not really one for single words- I like taking in a bunch of words as a whole, like a in a sentence or a paragraph.

That's not what's important. It's only important that the word is important to you.

Repetition is one of my favorite words!

There's not many words I find standing out in a positive way, but a lot I dislike. I'll save those for another thread. :)
