At least that's what many members of his own party are probably going to say about him after a comment he made on January 27, 2008. While at a church in Macon, Georgia, Senator Obama told parishioners that he relies on his religious faith, more so now, than ever. Obama apparently said, "You gotta have Christ in your life when you're running for office all the time."
Wow. Now the militant atheist faction of the Democratic Party is likely to attack him.

"Militant Atheist," always worth a chuckle. That's all I have time for, gotta get to one of our rallies. We're gonna burn Yahweh in effigy and pass out Nietzsche pamphlets while chanting, "Hell no, we won't...um...pray!"

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean. We don't have to be mean, because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

We just had a coupla Jehova's Witless at the door yesterday. I wonder what it would be like going door to door for atheism?

I always loved that Isaac Asimov identified himself as a humanist instead of an atheist. It doesn't make any sense to define oneself by what one doesn't believe in (Zeus, God, Flying Spaghetti Monster, unicorns...how long is this lis?).
--------------------------
I believe in the scientific method and the rule of reason as a way of understanding the natural Universe. I don’t believe in the existence of entities that cannot be reached by such a method… and that are therefore 'supernatural.' I certainly don’t believe in the mythologies of our society, in heaven and hell, in God and angels, in Satan and demons…. Humanists believe that human beings produced the progressive advance of human society and also the ills that plague it. They believe that if the ills are to be alleviated, it is humans that will have to do the job. They disbelieve in the influence of the supernatural on either the good or the bad of society, on either its ills or the alleviation of those ills.
