Just watched 'Smallville ' while preparing for Angel. When Clark has to plunge that big ole needle into her heart..., thoughts immediatly flew back to OoG, Mal in the infirmary. I'm sure it had something to do w/ getting ready to watch our HERO coming up on ANGEL.....heh heh

I work in the Purchasing department of an RV company, but I'm also responsible for the production schedule - keeping track of what units are coming in the door when, and with what options. If a dealer wants a unit with an unusual option (no air conditioner, for example) we have a process for approving the "Special" change order. I had a salesman call today and ask for a "Special" change order, and I SWEAR he sounded just like Book reminding Mal of "the SPECIAL hell....".
OK, it looks kinda lame written down, but it was funny at the time....

I had a firefly moment at work the other day. I was looking up file notes and our clients attorney first name was Serenity. It immediately made me smile. It was also made me unable to focus on my job for the next few minutes.

So. . .I had a rare opportunity recently to fly 'back seat' with our Brigade Commander in the front seat. Sort of his 'last hurrah' before he hands the mission over to our replacements. . .We've made the run to several of the more remote fire bases, which many of us firefly-minded pilots refer to as 'the rim' or 'the border worlds', and as we're coming back home to Kandahar (our little Persephone, I guess), we have to hold a pattern for a few moments as a bunch of Marine Corps helicopters come in.

We're sitting here, watching a whole mess of USMC aircraft cruise past us, new to the mission and such, and I comment that with the Marines here with their helos and Harrier jets, and our replacements bringing more aircraft than we had, I was surprised there'd be space for all of them.

The Colonel, who is NOT a Firefly-type, says somewhat wistfully (I bet most of you have guessed already)

I was sitting in Physics class yesterday, pretty much falling asleep, when my physics teacher suddenly referred to the equations of general relativity as 'wacky fun'.

That woke me up; I couldn't stop grinning. Which I think slightly worried my physics teacher who I'm sure already thinks I'm freak since he found out that I skived one of his lessons to go to a buffy convention.

Ok, some friends and I were playing this odd little card game. Some people are secretly "Mafia", and they "kill" other players. Then everyone has to figure out who the Mafia people are.
During one round,I kept getting accused of being Mafia, and, when I asked why, one guy said, "Because I think you are."
I replied, kinda drawling, "Thinkin' don't make it so."
One of the girls just cracks up and when she finally gets under control, says, "That sounded just like Mal."
Yay!

Also, if anyone else noticed? On the first Angel episode with Adam Baldwin, Spike said "fixin' to", and Angel said something about "philosophize". I think it's a correct form of the word, but just the way he said it made it really sound Firely-y.

Back when I was doing my degree, I opened one of my last exam papers, and one of the questions involved a contractual dispute between Sheridan, Sinclair and Franklin.

I had a Firefly Moment at work last night. I work the Front Desk at a hotel, and this weekend is my turn in the rotation for midnight shift. At about 1 in the morning a taxi dropped off a young woman who'd been drinking downtown and she promptly threw up on the sidewalk and collapsed for a little lie-down in said pool of bile and liquor (it was pretty clear she'd not eaten anything... possibly all day). Her friends put her in a cab in that condition and sent her back by herself - that really made me mad, but that's a separate and irrelevant story. She was still somewhat conscious and knew what room she was in. Up stairs of course. I half-carried/half-walked her down the hall, and when I got to the bottom of the stairs and looked up, my first thought was - to steal a Kayleeism - "I tried to get her up the stairs. She was just... *heavy*." I did manage to get her up there, though. I just felt bad that when she couldn't crawl, she couldn't find one of her so-called "friends" to carry her.

Yesterday, my friend and I were watching Twister, a movie that can make me a little crazy - got chased by an actual twister once upon a time. Toward the end of the movie, the newscaster said something about the tornado heading toward Canton County.

Yup - you can probably guess what I said next.
