This episode seemed kind of familiar. Did Angel sort of reference this episode in a flashback in season 2? If I remember right, Angel had his soul durng the Boxer Rebellion. I haven't seen season 2 in a while, but I thought I had seen the slow motion scene on Angel, but I can't remember the title.

Buffy 5.7 "Fool For Love" and Angel 2.7 "Darla" form a two-parter of sorts. There's not a real crossover going on in terms of main story, but the Boxer Rebellion scenes do tie the two together.

In Fool for Love, when we see this Boxer Rebellion scene, it is not explained why Angel is with Spike, Dru & Darla even though he now has a soul. Until I saw the Darla episode of Angel I thought they had made another inconsistency in story mistake. So, those who did not watch both shows would have missed this bit of information.
