Digging out more CNN/YouTube plants: Abortion questioner is declared Edwards supporter (and a slobbering Anderson Cooper fan); Log Cabin Republican questioner is declared Obama supporter; lead toy questioner is a prominent union activist for the Edwards-endorsing United Steelworkers
By Michelle Malkin • November 29, 2007 12:47 AM Update: The foliage keeps blooming…a questioner working with Dick Durbin’s staff and a Richardson supporter masquerading as a Paulbot… and a former Jane Harman intern…and the “Blind Black Republican satirist” (a milder species, but still, all in the same family).

Update: Watch video of the disappearing plants. CNN cuts out Keith Kerr from the debate rebroadcast. Keep pulling those weeds…

***
Welcome to Horticulture Journalism 101. (Keep scrolling down for new updates to this handy CNN/YouTube illustrated plant guide.)

Concerned Young Undecided Person “Journey” = John Edwards supporter “Journey”

***

Concerned Undecided Log Cabin Republican supporter David Cercone = Obama supporter David Cercone

***

Concerned Undecided Mom LeeAnn Anderson = Activist for the John Edwards-endorsing United Steelworkers union LeeAnn Anderson

***

Concerned Undecided Gay Military Retiree Brig. Gen. Keith H. Kerr = Hillary/Kerry supporter and anti-”Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” activist Keith H. Kerr

***
The best thing about Republicans agreeing to do the CNN/YouTube debate is that it created yet another invaluable opportunity to expose CNN’s abject incompetence.

Retired Brig. Gen./gays in the military lobbyist/Hillary-Kerry supporter Keith H. Kerr wasn’t the only plant at the CNN/YouTube debate. The plant uncovering is in full-swing over at Free Republic.

Example: “Journey,” a.k.a. “Paperserenade,” the girl who asked an abortion question, is a declared John Edwards supporter.

You couldn’t tell from the video that CNN aired, where she’s wearing a plain shirt:

But if you click through on her YouTube profile, you see her latest video in response to the candidates’ answers. And she’s prominently wearing…her John Edwards ‘08 t-shirt:

In case CNN’s eyesight is impaired:

How, you ask, should CNN have known? Well, on her YouTube profile, this woman links to her personal blog, where her user profile makes her political leanings crystal clear:

Turns out “Journey/” “paperserenade” is also a big slobbering Anderson Cooper fan. She posted this video a month ago exulting that “Anderson Cooper said my name!” during a CNN viewer comment segment. She wrote, “Horrible video, but at least I’ve got some type of recording of this event that has made my week!:”

On her blog, she posted an Anderson Cooper segment from VH1 with the following comment: “Anderson officially had the Best Week Ever for the week of 10/26/07, and looked more delicious than a pic-i-nic basket while doing so. And lookie, I found the video and uploaded it to Youtube for y’all. :D”

“Delicious!”

***

Update: And another one…Brian McMurphy at SixMeatBuffet (hat tip See-Dubya) notes that David Cercone, the Pompano Beach, Florida, man who asked the question about Log Cabin Republicans, is a declared Obama supporter.

His video:

Hillary must have shared a bag of her fertilizer with CNN. And yeah, it stinks:

***

Update: And another one…via The Autopsy…The lead toy questioner, LeeAnn Anderson, who appears to be an ordinary mom concerned about her two children, whom she includes in her video, is a prominent Pittsburgh union activist–and aide to Leo Gerard, President of the American Steel Workers Union/John Edwards supporter.

Her video:

If you go to the United Steelworkers YouTube page, you’ll see that Ms. Anderson’s video question is the featured video…a

Only people voting for Republicans can participate:

That, it would seem, is what some expect of balanced media. Balanced so that only their side is allowed to speak?

Both parties had their own YouTube debates. The questions were suppose to be from " undecided registered voters likely to vote GOP ". And yet, we have some half a dozen supporters for Demcorats asking very slanted questions, while no such quid pro quo was in place when the Dems had THEIR YouTube debate. But it was under false pretenses that these folks had their questions chosen, BY CNN, and they even flew one guy in who was on a Hillary Clinton steering committee!! No such treatment was given to anyone of similar position for the Dem debates. Gee, I wonder why.

Yes, citizen, only Republicans were suppose to ask questions in the REPUBLICAN debate, where as the same was the case for Democrats in the DEMOCRATIC debate. However, if a person was an TRUE independant, then they should have been presented as such, but not pretend to be an undecided GOP voter who obviously is wearing a John Edwards 08 shirt and is working for his campaign. Please.

Too much for you to handle ?

I actually have some sympathy for AU's opinion in this case because he's viewing this from the perspective of the party primaries. Primaries are in effect little elections where only party members count. Viewed in that context none party members have no real say and their opinion is not being saught. Yes it's stupid, because one of the guy's (or gals) these parties select will be president at some point, so everyone has an interest in finding out more about them. However viewed narrowly this really should be a Rep on Rep bloodletting wityh open season reserved for the general election.

I may have mispoke, but I think that questions are solicited from affirmed independants from each party which would make logical sense as both parties have their own YT debate. Whether a voter generally votes R or D, isn't so much the issue as here we have a blatent case of CNN allowing voters who clearly have already decided on their candidates, all of them being Democrats, asking Republicans biased / slanted questions. The whole POINT of this was to engage the UNDECIDED voter, where as the ones pointed out above clearly are there w/ an agenda, and fully do NOT intened to vote for any Republican. THAT's where the issue lies, and where CNN is wiping the collective egg from its face.

It's a GOP debate, citizen. Just as I explained, the Dems had their OWN debate. It's not even remotely an issue of anyone being 'allowed' to speak, but the intent was for those who HONESTLY were undecided to get to speak. But since you put it in such a acrimonious manner - yes ! Balanced so only their side is allowed to speak. Or, at the very least, only those who are undecided are allowed to speak, while those working for the opposition's campaigns should have been vetted and left to watch at home.

Is THAT too much for you to handle?

They can ask all the tough questions they want once the general election begins. Its not appropriate to allow democrats to ask the questions when the Republicans are trying to pick their candidate. If Independent voters want a say in what candidate the parties pic they are free to register as a democrat or Republican and vote in the primary. They can even put forward a candidate to try and take over the party like Ron Paul is doing to the republicans.

Apparently there was nothing wrong with getting questions from all people, according to the rules of the debate I found. Perhaps someone can dig up a more complete set from elsewhere that says different.

Don't recall exactly, but in the previous Dem debate wasn't the audience salted with "undecided" Hillary fans? I thought it was CNN that had let that thru also.

I personally don't care about the questioners background. I think everybody should be able to sak a question about anybody. Doing THAT will stir up more information on all the candidates, and allow each party member a more-informed primary vote. But isn't it a little misleading when a person is presented as one thing but is actually another? Maybe they should just drop any attempted description of questioner and just, yanno, discuss the issues.

It's not about the rules it's about appropriate behavior by the media. When you have a Republican debate it is assumed that it is for the benefit of Republican voters. After the primaries anything goes.

That doesn't make sense on the face of it. Just because a Dem asks a Repub a question does not make the answer useless for Repubs. In fact, I would prefer to see Dems grilled by Repubs and vice versa- I think we'd ALL get better questions... and more useful information... that way.

Last I checked, Hillary is a Democrat. It's one thing to 'let through' members of the same party acting as undecided, and quite another letting folks from another party under the guise of being undecided, when in fact they clearly are working for a Dem candidate. But that is the point of these YT debates. One for the undecided types leaning toward the Dems, the other undecided types leaning toward the GOP. This is why they call them primaries, after all, and not general elections.

Hello,

I am pleased to have the candidates I am considering answer any question from any source, just so long as that source is not themselves.

That means if a Democrat member of the Ron Paul Haters club has a valid question for Ron Paul, I advocate them asking it. My candidate should be able to express himself in response to any valid question. I am sure that the Democrats would be more than happy to allow Republican members of the I Hate Hilary club to ask questions at their debates.

And if not, why not? I don't think these candidates should allow themselves to be perceived as having anything to hide.

Don't be dumber than you can help Rap - you ever think that if perhaps one of them Rethugs does a good job of answering a Dimocrat voters question while their own Dimocrat totally fumbles it that they won't ponder that thought a while.

I really wish you'd lay off the propaganda push, it's not that it's offensive, per-se, it's that you're so very, very, BAD at it...

I have sat here and thought and thought - what kind of question could be asked that would be so bad ?

One could ask Romney about changing positions on abortion, Giuliani about spending tax money on trips to see his girlfriend (mistress ?) and whether or not he has any answer for the US besides 9/11, Thompson about almost any policy issue, any republican who has courted the religious right about gay marriage and abortion etc.

But how are these not legitimate questions ?

That's the point of this thread. If Hillary gets to pick her own questions, and democrats get to pick the questions asked to Republicans, is there any time left for members of either party to ask legitimate questions to a candidate of their own party. Like I said before, if you want to influence the primary elections all you have to do is register to vote in that party primary. I can join the democratic party and vote for whatever candidate I think is the biggest loser then turn around and vote for a Republican in the general election. I wouldn't do this because I like the the idea of Democrats picking their candidate and Republicans picking their own. If the media wants to influence the outcome of the primaries they should do it with commentary, editorial etc., not by sabotaging one parties debate.

"After spending the day facing accusations it stacked the deck against the Republican presidential contenders by having Democratic backers ask video questions during its debate, CNN on Thursday responded that it doesn't know what the fuss is all about.

The cable news network, in collaboration with video Web site YouTube, hosted the Wednesday night debate that had more than 30 voters pose questions to the Republican candidates. It later turned out that several of those questioners are actively supporting Democratic candidates.

"The whole point of these ground-breaking CNN/YouTube debates is to focus on substantive questions of concern to real people and to throw open the process to a wider range of Americans all around the country. CNN cared about what you asked, not who you were. This was the case for both the Democratic and the Republican CNN/YouTube debates," CNN said in a statement issued late in the day."

Maybe the idea that questions were restricted to democrats during the democratic debate is faulty ?

That's all I ask is that they treat both parties equally. Allowing the democrats to pick the questions for both the democrat and Republican debates just seems a little unfair.

(CNN) -- Monday will deliver a milestone in presidential campaign history, as user-generated video drives a debate.

At 7 p.m. ET Monday, the Democratic candidates for president will face questions sent in via YouTube. Then, on September 17, the Republican candidates will participate in the second CNN-YouTube debate.

At CNN, a small group led by Senior Vice President David Bohrman and CNN Political Director Sam Feist is looking over the questions.

Bohrman and Feist say they are pleased with the quantity -- and the quality -- of the questions coming in.

"It tells you that people want to connect with the candidates and they want to personalize them," Feist said, "and I think that's what this debate does, personalizes the questions, and it personalizes the answers in a way that journalists don't."

Bohrman said there may be some questions that challenge the candidates.

"There's not going to be a foolish, gotcha question because we're not out there to stump," Bohrman said. "We're out there to actually see how people who want to be president think and handle issues and questions and people that are slightly outside of their comfort zones."

"There are questions that we, the journalists, we, the mainstream media, would never think to ask in the presidential debate," Bohrman said.

Some, however, are questioning the process.

"If CNN has total editorial control over what videos are shown to the candidates, it's pulling the rug out from under the so-called 'user-generated content' revolution," writes Joshua Levy at Techpresident.com.

"This stuff is much less fascinating if a third-party gatekeeper comes in and tells us what is interesting and what is fluff. Instead, YouTube and CNN should let YouTube users decide what the best questions are, and then use those questions in the debate."

Users can submit presidential debate questions on YouTube until Saturday. The site includes the questions sent so far along with some tips for users on on how to help get their video chosen.

The Democratic debate, the first Democratic National Committee-sanctioned presidential forum of the 2008 election cycle, will be held at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Republican presidential forum hosted by CNN and YouTube will take place in Florida. Both will be aired live on CNN.

Since I didn't watch *E*I*T*H*E*R* of these debates, exactly what biased questions did these planted Democrat voters ask? Does anybody have direct quotes?
A question is a question. Unless it's a "When did you stop beating your wife?" trick question, it's just a question. And I doubt if anybody *M*A*D*E* the candidates answer any of them. Any candidate could have answered either, " That's a trick, loaded, biased question, and I won't answer it. " or " That question is too hard for a simple answer. We're studying it, and I'll give you an answer later."
Otherwise, any answer revealed something about the candidate, that might have been useful for someone making up his mind>

No, she's giving me boat loads of info. It's the main stream media which is ducking this story. Well, except for FOX news. I saw them talking about this very issue on their 'special report' show, 6pm Eastern.

CNN....the anti-American scumbag traitors who sucked Sadaam Heussein's pecker every day so they could keep a "journalist" there to report on America's disaster...CNN..who wouldn't undertstand the concepts of civility and fairness and equal time if it fell out of the sky right on top of Ted Turner's worm-ridden, fat head?

The Republicans SHOULD have known better...it's THEIR fault!

Hillary plants

Obama plants...and they even flew in and put up in hotels on expenses these sleeper cell bastards...but NO>>>CNN didn't know of course!

Yeah, I agree. Shame on the GOP for continually showing trust and good will to their fellow Americans, even while the Dems dump on FOX NEWS for no reason what so ever, other than to galvinize their own Left wing base. Too many in the GOP are the go along to get along types, and it quite frankly does them a disservice. The GOP tries to pretend that all's well in the world, and ignores the obvious attempts by those on the Left to sabotage their debate. Instead of getting pissed or calling out CNN, the candidates don their Stepford faces and act as if nothing's wrong. The candidates themselves don't have to do any of the dirty work, but where's the Paul Begala, the James Carville to rock the boat ???

And oh, look at that... Kerr, the retired gay General, the one all this fuss was originally kicked up over.... he's been a registered Republican for years, and only recently switched to Independant, and though he supports Clinton's position on Gay rights, does not work for her campaign, as wingnuts have claimed. So, even though the rules 'Rap claims were broken didn't exist - Kerr didn't break them anyway.

Quote:

The retired officer said his activities with the Clinton campaign are minimal. He receives e-mails from the campaign and has been invited to a fundraiser in San Francisco. He said he offered to pay "some token amount like 100 bucks" to attend the fundraiser, but as of yet has given no contribution.

"I have not done any work. Several friends asked me if I would allow my name to be listed and I agreed. She's been such a strong advocate for gay rights," he told CNN on Thursday.

He added that he had been a Log Cabin Republican for a long time and recently changed from Republican to independent in California. He said he had supported the GOP but "these guys are just partisanly homophobic."

And this is from Fox News, so no bitching that it's the leftie media spinning it.

I tried really hard to find ANY orginal source of information that indicated Kerr was a co-chair of anything.

I finally found a link to a link on Obama's website (final link in the chain here:) http://campaignsandelections.com/ia/releases/?id=6514

Apparently there was a group of military who supported Clinton and that support was recognized at some obscure meeting. Kerr didn't appear to be a speaker and possibly not even an attendee, but his name was on a list at the bottom of a press release.

Gate-crashing ? Are you still maintianing that democrats had no right to submit questions ? Or that CNN had no right to air them ? Because the rules were clear and consistent for both debates - anyone could submit questions and have them aired. The debates were NOT a private party, an idea you mistakenly cling to.

The rules of civility of this debate stated that questions were supposed to come from "likely Republican voters". Those were supposed to be CNN's rules agreed to in advance.....not Democrat plants attached to the Democrat campaigns.
If there was no deception intended, then why didn't they wear their 'Edwards for President" & "Obama for President" tee shirts when they asked the questions...like they did later on You Tube...at least that honest gesture would have been fair and "democratic".

More and more plants have been shown to have been in the Clinton News Network scam of a debate, and yet some refuse to accept the facts. CNN ADMITTED it fucked up, it APOLOGIZED,and still you fucking myrmidons won't accept the truth...

Anything to support that ? Or is this just an opinion you seem to mistake for reality ?

"plants Democrats"
They "planted" at least one repubican in the democratic debate. And you have yet to show there were any rules that were supposed to exclude democrats. So you can't show they did anything wrong and you can't show they did anything one-sided. How did they 'plant' democrats again ??? The answer - they didn't.

"in GOP YouTube debates"
Look at that - a fact you actually almost got right. Though it implies that the GOP debates were supposed to be of, by, and for the GOPers when in fact, everyone was invited to pose questions and watch.

You can't handle the facts.

Where's your proof that the question was from a Republican?? So far, you've got bupkis.

Don't complain when I have to post from one thread to the next 'cause you're too cowardly to address threads where you can't reply.

"I'd like to know, if the Democrats come into office, are my taxes going to rise like usually they do when a Democrat gets into office?"

"Tell me your position on gun control, as myself and other Americans really want to know if our babies are safe. This is my baby, purchased under the 1994 gun ban."

"Don't you think if we pulled out now that it would open it up for Iran and Syria, God knows who -- Russia -- how do we pull out now? And isn't it our responsibility to get these people up on their feet? I mean, do you leave a newborn baby to take care of himself? How do we pull out now?"

"you said "The entire deaths of Vietnam died in vain." I'd like to know if you plan to defend that statement, or if you're just going to flip-flop. Thanks."

Please tell me none of these are repubican talking points and language.

According to Bohrman, questions that "involve asking the candidates to defend their opposition to gay marriage and abortion," which Bohrman called "lobbying grenades," "would be disqualified by the CNN selection team." Yet, CNN gave no indication that it similarly weeded out Republican "gotchas" for the CNN/YouTube Democratic debate; indeed, several questions asked during that debate could be described as Republican "gotchas," including one in which the questioner echoed the enduring Republican myth of Democrats as taxers and spenders. CNN also aired two separate questions on same-sex marriage.

I said the same thing yesterday; that I don't debate liberal ideologues because its' utterly hopeless...they have to have the last word no matter what, and they will dance and spin because they have no answers or real values, and they hate the fact that we do. They also hate the fact the we love America....her history, her traditions, all of it, the good, the bad, the ugly too...we don't apologize for nothing. We understand there wouldn't even be a free wold today if not for America...Even Democrat Presidential candidates refuse & won't wear a simple American flag lapel pin...repeat, WON'T WEAR THE AMERICAN FLAG PIN, or put their hand over their heart to say the Pledge of Allegience ( yep ..I want that for my President)...oh no...that would indicate some measure of love for America...oh the horror to their throngs of know-nothing, pot-head liberals...can't have that@! Way "cooler" to hate your country & carry your anti-war, Bush is Hitler sign ( prepared, un-knowingly by you,... for you, courtesy of your local Socialist Worker's Party )and generally behave like low-life idiots and traitors to everything in America. They disguise it all by claiming that CHANGE is needed in all aspects of everything we once held dear and sacred...throw it out...religion, military strength & defense, self-reliance, personal responsibility, duty, honor, respect, and Creed...NO..not for them...they want to take more of my money in taxes so atheists, transsexuals, can't-work drug addicts, illegal invaders (aka Dem. voters) & welfare baby factories can acheive their goals...that's their idea of American values....and then punish, punish, punish evil corporations, and small business entrepeneurs because that represents evil capitalism. The Liberal Strongholds currently in America such as San Francisco, Massachusetts, Chicago, Michigan. et al give us a crystal clear view of what their utterly insane and disgusting agendas look like when they're fully played out. What ever happened to the normal, moderate, stand-up America-loving Dems?...Where'd they go to? Joe Lieberman, a once iconic Democrat, a man worthy of the high respect he earned for decades in American politics even by his Repub. opponents...the former Democrat VP Candidiate & near American VP has been cast out, ridiculed & cursed, and embattled politically by these Pelosi/Reid inflamed 22% popularity and approval gang of radicals. The ONLY thing that has thwarted their quest thus far for turning America into France and Gommorah has been the Republicans, even as inept & corrupt as they have been post Bill Clinton. I have to live with that fact, and it pains me and all too frequently embarasses me, but I'm really scared to death of Hillary and the rest of the Dems if their goals are allowed to be unleashed with hell-bent fury in the face of zero opposition. We all saw what Bush did with "total" political control...I fear the Dems agendas and central themes a lot more. George Soros, the money and architect of the modern Move.On/KOS-Dem. Hello,

If you have your account set up to do so, it will notify you whenever someone replies to your post. For instance, when I wrote this reply, it did not ask if I wanted to notify you. It either will or it won't, depending on settings. There is an option to 'override notification' which will allow me to reply in 'stealth' mode, but I would have to select this option by checking a box. I prefer to let people's own account settings stand, and I'm sure other folks feel the same way. Please don't take it as an insult. Shut off your notifications if you don't like them.

On to another note:

THE AMERICAN FLAG PIN, or put their hand over their heart to say the Pledge of Allegience "

Contrary to the rock-solid truth of email spam, there is no candidate who has failed to put their hand over their heart while saying the Pledge.

But even if there was, I don't think it would bother me. The position of hands over hearts and bibles, the wearing of little flag pins... these are gestures like pinky-swears and spitting into your palm before you shake on a deal. If they have no significance for the person making the gesture, then they are empty gestures. Some people swear on the graves of their mothers or the eyes of their children. Again, empty gestures (unless you actually believe some supernatural force will unearth your mother or blind your children.)

We invent these meanignless gestures because it makes us uncomfortable to live in a world of uncertainty... a world where you can't really know what is in a man's heart. But no amount of gesturing will create anything but a false sense of security for us. Our best bet is to ignore these empty gestures, and look for something more real in a person's behavior and actions.

It's a much better indicator than watching the Devil swear on the Bible and thinking he's Godly, or having a Traitor wear a Pin that magically makes him Loyal to the country.

Focus on what's real. Focus on what matters.

I'm going to carry my answer from the other thread too, since this discussion seems to be spread across two threads:

-------------------
Auraptor, I really don't get your point. (Nor Kirkules' either.)

What are you more upset about: That Democrats (gasp!) asked questions of Republican candidates, or that CNN didn't background check the questioners?

AFA the first point, WHY should questions be limited to a particular Party? It wasn't apparently against the rules, so.... ? What's the problem? It seems to me that you would get the best answers from candidates if they were asked tough questions. And that seems fair to me, seeing as some states (like ours) actually have "open primaries" where anyone can vote for anyone, irrespective of Party registration.

AFA the second point: What difference does it make if "How do you feel about gay marriage?" is asked by a trucker from Nebraska or a lesbian student from Boston? Are you (and other Republicans) so weak-minded that you can't separate the issues from the individuals? If so, I suggest that you grow a set of neurons. That'll help better than whinging.

Hello all,

My wife made a very good point to me today.

She asked me, "Why were there different questions for the two debates, anyway? Each of the candidates is going to have to deal with the same issues, so shouldn't they be asked the same questions?"

And, you know, I really couldn't find fault with that position.

It's the YouTube format which I really dislike, bc it turns into a gladiatorial sport. People want to put boxing gloves on the candidates and then stand around yelling Fight! Fight! like a bunch of high schoolers. I really think we need to turn DOWN the emotion of we're going to make good decisions, but that's not the direction that we're heading.

The debates arranged by the League of Women Voters asked all of the candidates the same questions, gave each of them a set time to reply and to rebut. I like that format a LOT better. I hope we get to see more of it.

Obama wouldn't put his hand over his heart when saying the Pledge recently and some of the non-koolaid media carried the story. As for the rest, I'm quite thrilled to know how much all my written truths and realities hit you. Pretty devastating to be confronted with it all at once I'll bet...and your normal reaction to mock & insult the messenger is warmly received.. You have to live with the harsh reality that everything you hope & dream for will be manifested in your decision of who've you've put in power, our leaders Nancy Pelosi & Hillary Clinton. A double-whammy from Hell if there ever was one. God help us, and a curse of locusts and boils upon you all for bringing the witches of Eastwick back to life to ruin America.

CNN recorded the highest ratings ever during the repubican debate.

To keep up that kind of bonanza they need three things - an audience, the democratic candidates, and the repubican candidates. The democrats said 'sure why not' to the debate. The repubicans had to be both shamed (the democrats agreed !) and coaxed (we'll screen your questions) to participate. And the audience had to be amused.

Is THIS how the US runs its democracy ? Might as well go back to picking people on the basis of catch phrases and slick, focus-group approved commercials.

What moveon.org did to the good general was horrific. It was inaccurate, baseless and totally gutless. Even the moveon spokesman said the AD was what was important, not their charges, which tells me it was nothing more than a PR stunt meant to get more folks to give them $$.

Regardless of the Petraus report, the network has a history which has earned it's nick name - The Clinton News Network.

I just knew you were going to do that.

So that's how you feel about the ad. Good for you. It's irrelevant. My point was what CNN wanted its viewers to feel about the ad and the liberal organization that is moveon. They called 3.2 million americans "american insurgents."

And it just isn't true that most liberals agree. I certainly don't. I donated right after congress took a swipe at them, because incase you haven't been paying attention, generals have to resign before they tell the truth. I would not have gone so far as the ad. I don't think it was helpful to use the cute phrase "betray us?", because they ahd to know every news organization was going to try to turn them into a Boogieman.

But honestly, were you waiting on the edge of your seat for Patreus to come out with a report that contradicted the Bush administration in any way? I don't think you were, and anybody that was is a little fucking naive. He takes his orders from the Commander-in-chief. That's why he still has a job.

So from my perspective Auraptor, I don't trust a President who tells the American people "we are going to wait for a report from the man who says only what I tell him to say, and I will listen to that man," and I don't trust the General who is that mouthpiece either. YOu can feel free.

So how does a "liberal" news organization, that supposedly represents lefty values end up using such charged language when talking about a liberal organization such as moveon? Hell, if CNN had a liberal agenda, they could have soothed moveons message don't you think? If they were cringing at it because it was just too hot to handle, they could have ignored it entirely, and at the very least, they could have colored their reporting to make it sound like a reasonable ad. They did nothing of the sort.

just another point,

I think I see one of your problems Auraptor. Your definition of liberal doesn't come close to mine. If by liberal, you mean "clinton news network", we are on completely different pages. I fail to see the need to label two people with a history of pro-corporate legislating, from nafta to media-deregulation, to defending the need for war with Iraq, to defending taking big lobbying money because they are "people too", anything but conservative democrats. They may be liberals at heart, though I'm not so sure, but their records are weak when it comes to earning the distinction.
