Just out of curiousity, where did you get that date? I have looked around, and I have only seen that date used as Mals birthday.

This post was made by FireflyPassenger a member of that board and this board who started out a Browncoat with the original ones who were here when the show was cancelled.
As I said above there is a bit of difference on how exactly we should mark this date, but this is the explanation that I saw. :-)
I'm sure 11th Hour or one of the other original BC's could tell you more.

I think you need to have a brown coat to celebrate this properly. Finding an Aliance bar may be the more difficult task.
And since all the planets will have different length years it will have to come down to which planet you use to set your calender by.

I actually prefer to celebrate Browncoat Day, it's everybody's day and not one filled with differences, but with shared happiness.

I don't do bars, actually... I prefer to break into Alliance hospitals and steal medical supplies... actually, maybe I will just find myself an Alliance friendly bar, lol...
