Buffyverse Movie - How would it go?

Personally i think it would be interesting if (big, BIG if) they made a Buffyverse movie that had a slightly lovecraftian spin to it.
Like if one of the Old Ones, the demons who ruled on earth before people turned up, was awoken and started freeing all of his/her/its brothers and sisters.
Illyria could provide some useful background knowledge on said nasty since she was an Old One herself.
Plus Dawn would die, i'm thinkin sacrifice.

I may wear brown, but theres a little purple mixed in there too.

Great idea. I was always disappointed that Joss didn't get the time to expand on the Old Ones from Angel. I think it would be great to see Faith and Illyria kick eachothers butts (with Spike sitting on the side taking bets and chainsmoking).

My only thing it wouldn't be a Buffyverse movie without Sarah and David, so I have to admit that it's a pipedream.

But keep dreaming. It's what us browcoats are good at.

I don't think the Buffyverse Old Ones match up with Lovecraft's Great Old Ones though it would be cool if Joss had a crack at bringing some Lovecraft to the screen. The only problem I forsee is Joss likes throwing in humor to lighten up the mood, in the Lovecraftian Mythos there was no humor and every story ends badly.
