Monty is clearly well known to the crew...

Monty strikes me as the the kind of fella likes a fire, a drink and a few tall tales 'bout his friends - and one of the best of 'em is surely Malcolm Reynolds...

i realise Monty says "I never said his name" but... how reliable is that...???

and anyway - if Saff had boned up on Monty in advance - scoped him before tieing the knott.... she may still have realised he was a lead to Mal, ultimately...

My opinion is, no. She had so many irons in the fire, she probably wasn't even thinking about the crew of that Firefly she nearly sold to the salvors that one time. She seems to get married about every day or so anyway.
