I've just ccome across this one for #8, I'm liking this:

--------------------------------------
"I'm an artist, with an e and a beret."

Funny--#8 is the only Chen cover so far that I don't really care for. Buffy's face looks weird, and not just in an "I'm being drowned" kinda way . I also don't like the mostly-white background--makes it look unfinished somehow.

Actually, I guess that makes three Chen covers that I'm kinda about--#8, and the covers of the first two TPBs. I have the same complaint about the "Long Way Home" as #8: too light a background, making the whole thing look unfinished. The "No Future for You" one has a cool concept, and Buffy is done really well, but there's something very odd about Faith's mouth...

Groosalugg... No spoilers but that isn't Buffy being drowned. Sure there's a slight familiarity but it's not her.

JWhedonAddict, Faith isn't nude in that cover. She's wearing a strapless, fleshtone, bra. If you look closely at the line of the lower curve of the breast then you'll see it's artificial. Nobody's body looks like that and these artists are too good to make a mistake like that.

--

Twelve spheres of unendurable brightness spalled the velvety blackness of space.
The silence on Lester Tourville's flag bridge was absolute
And then the spell was broken as Shannon Foraker looked up from her console from where she had just sent a seemingly innocent command to the main computers of State Security's finest Superdreadnoughts.
"Oops." She said.

hmm... I don't buy it, I can't see any lines, and, if you're talking realism, even if there were, a strapless bra wouldn't look like that, they tend to be bulkier and a lot less supportive than strappy ones, she still wouldn't be that rounded and perky I think she's nekkid...

and how do you know it's not buffy, have you read it?

I concur.
And that's always a good thing (like when Anya went into Spikes room and he was almost that way except for a little bit O' sheet)

Not that I notice stuff like that Chrisisall

mmm...

plus I've already ranted about the unrealness of #7 so I won't again, but I think this is much more realistic (and sexier) than that

From what I've read elsewhere, Jo Chen had the artwork up on her myspace page, entitled "Faith vs. Buffy".

And as far as any "flesh-colored bra" goes, Scott Allie--the editor--said in an interview a couple of weeks before the #9 cover was released that an upcoming cover featured nudity. If it were a real photo, then yeah, obviously you'd put the actress in something like that if you could possibly get away with it, but why the heck would you even bother on a painting?! And like Charlie said, I don't see any lines, either--just a couple of very strategically-placed (and conveniently 100% opaque) flames...

right way up I didn't think that looked like buffy but I turned it upside down (handy having a laptop ) and it's got buffy's weird, deformed nose...

unless you're just saying it's someone/something that looks like buffy but isn't...
