This girl thanks you. She thanks you good.
"it's always complicated and at some point someone has to draw the line and that is always going to be me. you get down on me for cutting myself off but in the end the slayer is always cut off. there's no mystical guide book, no all knowing council, human rules don't apply. there's only me....i am the law" -Buffy the Vampire Slayer

You're welcome.
I personally didn't care for it myself though.
I didn't think the nudity was necessary (in sharp contrast with how Joss claimed to feel about the way women were dressed-or not dressed-in most comics out there), then I saw that they were basically doing the same with one of the covers of ANGEL: AFTER THE FALL #2. (Edit: I think I linked to it on the Angelus Arcanum board)
It's the feminist in me I guess, but I did enjoy Angel and Spike in Buffy's dream, and Xander in #6, so does that make me hypocritical ('cuz I don't mean to be)?
It's not like they were completely nude, though, like Faith seems to be.

Sorry, guess I should've been more specific in the thread title! Anyone who has a problem with it, tell 'em it was completely my fault because I didn't give a very good warning beforehand.
Warning: If you plan to look at the link for the cover of ANGEL:AFTER THE FALL #2 on Angelus Arcanum board, there's more of the same kind of thing.

Quote:It's not actual nudity, and as such, I'd be okay with my eight-year old seein' it.

But there is some blood in these comics that I wouldn't want him to see...

Pffff.
What can you say. It's ok artwork but a little beneath the regular Buffy fan.
Not offended by it, but it just seems a little cheap n easy for a comic to do that.

The thing I like most about it is--forget the nudity for a moment and just focus on her face--it's Jo Chen's best job capturing Eliza's likeness, IMO. That looks so much like her it's scary, and my first reaction when seeing it a few weeks ago was to wonder what Eliza's feelings will be about it when she finally sees it. I doubt she's been reading these comics
, but it'll get back to her somehow. She's been so adamant about not doing nude scenes in any of her movies, that this just made me wonder what she'd think of it...
As for the cover itself and whether the nudity is or isn't necessary, I don't have a problem with it. Thematically, it seems to make sense. She's burning the fancy dress she wore to infiltrate Lady Savidge's high society world. We still don't know how she'll have to be forced to deal with her in the end, so if she did actually have to kill her, this could be her symbolically trying to put this chapter of her life behind her and emerge fresh into something new, and hopefully better. In essence, being re-born...

Hey Big 'C' how you doing?
Well I prefered the previous cover. Maybe it's my overly critical cartoonist eye coming through, but the pose feels all false and lacking any kind of weight. Looks as if the head has been directly traced (nothing wrong with that) and then the body and pose is an after thought. Face expression is bland and lacking any real communication of what's going on around her. That said I'd love to be able to illustrate as well as Chen does but it irks me to see great skill being wasted. I mean what happened to her right arm ?
Flames are good though. That must have taken some time.
