I too ordered mine Direct from 'Versal, on 5/8, and have yet to receive any email, save for the initial one, when i first ordered. will have to check on this after work.....

I ordered 5 sets directly from Universal back on 8/6/07. Got the acknowledgement email saying that they would ship on 8/19/07. Today, 8/22/07, there is no word, and when I check the online status, it just says "Backordered".

Good luck trying to find a phone number on their website to call a human being. After hunting and pecking, finally got a hold of their headquarters, and a person gave me the "customer support line" for their Home Entertainment (DVD) division. Still, no person answered, had to leave a voice mail for callback.

Suffice to say I am underwhelmed with Universal. The reason I'd ordered from them (other than to show direct support for our BDH's) was to get the product ASAP. In retrospect, it looks like I should have just gone to Best Buy in person, the day of sale.

That's crazy 'cause I got an email this morning saying my order was shipped with a reference number. I only placed it earlier this week. Are you on the "Do Not ship" list or something? That would be bad.

I ordered mine on May 28th and got the confirmation letter haven't heard nothing about it at all.

I'll get impatient this weekend and buy it in a store, then on Monday they will send my copy out, if at all.

Anybody have any more updates on the DVD's straight from Universal?

edit: I just looked up the status of my order and it does indeed say on backorder, so I emailed them. Now for the reply...

In addition to the email status from Universal (see a couple of posts previous), I received a voicemail callback to my pleas....they just say

"We're backordered, please allow us a week, we will notify you when it ships".

I kind of feel like Mr. Universe did when a certain sword plunged into his guts.

Amazon says that Serenity Collector's Edition is number 7 in today's top 100 best selling DVDs. It was number 7 on August 24th, 12:03 PM (EST).

Ordered mine on Amazon.com,as the UHV site says "US only" :( (Am in UK)-Amazon UK has NOTHING yet on the release,and I haven't seen my usual online DVD vendors offer it yet,either :(
would have liked to have stood up and been counted by Universal,to encourage more Browncoaty goodness ;)-edit-Catching up on my (Award Winning Firefly related) podcasts- Firefly Talk #55 mentions the Amazon.com presales figures having Serenity SE @ #14...edit 2-just checked Amazon again for an update-make that #6 :)
