I can't answer for SignyM, but
a) We line up Bush & Cheney for you, and you get to execute them
Not my cup'a.
b) We tax you at 50% Corp rate
Many large companies pay no tax at all - I could go for that.

As for Congress overall - I know some of why they're not "doing anything".
Senate repubicans filibustered debate 77 times as of two weeks ago..
So I completely understand why the Democrats are at a standstill.
But they're not even making the right noises. Pelosi should step down as speaker so that the House can get on with investigation and impeachment. And Senate Democrats need to start getting the message out.

That may be some of it, but I suspect that their inaction has more to do with the fact they are as deeply invested in "politics as usual" as the republicans are.

It's hard to get anything done if you don't have the votes to break a filibuster. But Reid needs to get out there in the media and 'splain in detail what the repubicans are doing.
Unless of course we have a media blackout on the topic.
Kinda like how the media is treatng Kucinich. It doesn't matter what he says - you'll never hear it on msm.

While I view Congress, and members of BOTH parties as wasteful, and non responsive to those who put them there, I'd likely oppose everything you think they should do.

I want them to vote for election reform NOW. No more black-box voting!
I want them to go over the budget and eliminate all the pork. Yep, ALL of it. Take all that money and put it towards government-run health care.
While they're at it, reform the tax code. Make us and corporations equal.
Repeal NAFYA, CAFTA, SHAFTA and the DMCA.
Raise the minimum wage to something resembling liveable.
Pull troops out of Iraq in a year starting now. NO permanent bases there either!
Oh yeah- and REQUIRE television and radio the provide FREE airtime for Presidential and Congressional candidates.
Also Rap, I see your on the board and I had a question about what your concerns were about government involvement in health care.
No need to waste time w/ pointless political 'investigations'....he who is with out sin. Gov't already spends 1.7 cents to make 1 penny. Start by fixing that problem, IMMEDIATLY!
Election 'reform' ? Reform never means anything near what it's suppose to mean. In D.C. talk, it means making thigns simple more complex, expensive and ultimately ineffective.
Take the extra $$ from elemiating Pork and pay off the Debt.
Remove the Income tax and give us the FAIR tax.
Never understood NAFTA. All it's done is allow more folks to pass into our borders. So much for that giant sucking sound, Ross.
Eliminate the min wage all together.
Finish the job in Iraq.
Get the Gov't out of health care.

Meh, not that I care what Kooky says no more - one creeper with illegally obtained firearms shoots a buncha unarmed folk, and his answer is that we need more unarmed folk ?
Stupidity of that sort has no cure.

Still - if they're covering what Obama's wife said, and what Hillary said back, and then what Obama said about what his wife said ... you'd think the platform of an actual candidate would be covered. I would, anyway.

Auraptor, got some questions:
"Finish the job in Iraq." There are no WMD in Iraq. Aren't we done yet?
"Get the Gov't out of health care." Ummm.... why? I really want to know.

Point taken, Rue - but I am long past the point of expecting the mainstream press to do anything but sing us mockingbird lullabys about celebrity bullshit hoping to distract us, so I'm no longer really caring what they cover, none of it's meaningful anyway, they've devolved the whole baliwick to infotainment and soundbites.
You want real news these days you have to dig for it, cause even most so-called counterculture sites are co-opted "dissent management" resources, and a lot of the ones with real muckrakers are not so reliable because most muckrakers are either a little bit (or a lot!) on the loony side, or have their own axes to grind.
So finding anything resembling actual "news" takes more work these days than most folk wanna invest - which is no doubt just how the cabal likes it.

There were WMD in Iraq, just not what we expected. Give the surge a chance.Leaving Iraq before the Gov't has a chance to stand on its own would lead to a true civil war, with 100,000's of more lives being lost and destablilizing a large portion of the middle east w/ no military presence to put out the fire. Now I'll admit that I am baffled at this nameless, all powerful person/persons behind the concept that we MUST establish a full time base there. I'm not sure I'm sold on that idea.
I don't want Gov't health care because I prefer the free market. It seems to work just fine with grocery stores, pizza delivery, car insurance, gas stations, home suupply, etc... We don't have Gov't running any of those outfits, do we? And yet the goods / services get deliverd just fine. Why should healthcare be any different?
