i have to wonder.. would these same people be any less obnoxious without their cell phones? i dont own a cell personally, but i respect peoples right to use them. to simplify this, rather than legislating, if it is private property, like a business etc., you obide by their rules. otherwise, we need to acknowledge that like the 2nd amendment, we are free and have rights as long as we act responsibly. i dont really see the difference between someone talking on their phone in a restaurant, or talking to another person- it may be slightly louder, but yet only half the words(..right?). i would like to be free of rudeness and obscenity aswell, but i encounter it on the road, or in a store or wherever else.. so whats the difference? these are ethical or moral isses that no amount of centralized legislating can change
this is like the (non)smoking debate, and for practical reasons you just dont want government regulating our lives, that is strictly the job of the family and community and the private business owner(as in the above context anyways)

If it really is available, for an affordable price, and it works, I would get it. What would happen if it works great, but you somehow get caught knocking out everyone's cell phone call around you? Could a cop arrest you for terrorism or something?

I believe you will be found in violation of FCC regulations. I'm sure you can be fined. I suspect that jail time is possible, but my -guess- is not (please see your legal representative ;-) ). Terrorism? Unless they can prove intent, no I don't think so... except as things are going lately, they don't seem to need to prove intent or much of any thing these days.

I remember one time when I went to a movie when I was living down in Florida, and some idiot got a call on his cell phone while I was trying to watch the movie. I had to restrain myself from walking over to the jerk, taking his phone, and throwing it out the exit door!
