Heathers. Best movie of the 80's, and still criminally underrated. Daniel Waters has a new film, (Sex, and Death 101) that comes out in the fall, and I can't wait.

Aliens. When James Cameron was an absolute bad ass. Man I miss him.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Steven Spielberg wrote and directed this amazing film. He really had talent, now he makes hack movies with big stars. Sad indeed.

Housekeeping. Why this isn't out on dvd, I have no idea. WTF? Sony would rather piss themselves than release a good film on dvd.

American Movie. The best documentary ever. If you don't like it, you should stop watching movies. I'm not kidding

Hey Whims.... never got around to watching PI yet. I started it, but I got ripped away by real life and haven't been able to get back to it. What I saw was real interesting though. Imma watch it this weekend and I'll let you know what I think.

Groundhog Day (This was a comical take on a short movie I saw on cable when I was about 8 years old called 12:01 PM. In that movie, a busy New York business man lived the same hour over and over again an infinite amount of time. Every one starts out at 12:01 PM when he was in the middle of a busy intersection crossing the street. As bad as "I Got You Babe" is to have to wake up to every morning, I think this guy had it infinately worse than Bill Murray. Really creepy movie and you should check it out if you get a chance. I don't even know if it's available anywhere now. ***Not to be confused with the movie 12:01 featuring Jonathan Silverman. Ima add that one to my must see list, as I haven't seen it. Sounds like the same type of premise.

Found it. It was only released on a compilation of shorts in the UK. Do yourself a favor and don't read anything online about this movie if you're going to see it. Don't want to ruin any more about it than I already spoiled).

The Truman Show (Although it was a direct ripoff of an episode of the colorized 80's version of Twilight Zone where the cable guy lets a guy know that his entire life has been a TV show and shows him some of the hidden cameras as proof. When his wife comes home, he tells her that he won't be a part of it anymore. She takes the kids and leaves him. I can't remember how it ended, but I was deathly afraid for years that there were cameras everywhere watching me. Poor guy... his family didn't know he smoked till he was outed by Google, and now the whole world knows. Really creepy thing is, he was caught on cam smoking years ago by a smillar, yet much smaller Amazon cam)

ONES I'D MOST LIKE TO SEE, BUT HAVEN'T YET:

Dark City - Saw part of this and it was freaking awesome. I can't believe I never rented it yet to see it all.
The Ninth Gate - What I saw of this movie was also great.
City of the Lost Children - Couldn't for the life of me place where I'd heard of this until I realized that I had played a Playstation game based on it years ago. It was uber creepy, so I'm looking forward to watching this too.
PI - I'll let you know Whimsy.

Okay here goes kids...

1. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
The film version with Tim Roth and Gary Oldman is the funniest thing I've ever seen. It' actually a play written by Tom Stoppard and if you ever have a chance to see it, do. It's an existential look at the lives of Hamlet's two best friends and their general outlook on their rather poinless existence: witty as hell.

2. Soylent Green
Go back to your roots people! Soylent Green is one of the best Sci Fi movies ever made. It stars Charlton Heston. I can't really say too much without giving away the good parts, but everyone should really see it.

3. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
I was so surprised as to just how great this movie was. I just love Val Kilmer, and he has some of the best lines ever in this movie. It's kind of loosly based off the Mike Shayne mystery novels, but a whole lot more fun.

4. Logan's Run
Another classic Sci Fi flick. This one has Michael York (he played Basil in Austin Powers.) He plays Logan 5, a sandman, whose job it is to ensure that anyone who is thirty is destroyed on last day at the ritual of carnival. But when it's his turn to renew he decides to run for sanctuary with his new scantily clad friend Jessica,...er just watch it.

5. My Best Friend Is A Vampire
My favorite 80's movie. This one stars Robert Sean Leonard (Wilson from House) as a teen who's finds out that he's been turned into a vampire. Rene Auberjonois (ya know Odo) plays his vampy mentor. The whole thing is just fun.

Hey here's a completely unknown film everyone should see and enjoy..
Splitting Heirs- Eric Idle wrote it and stars along with John Cleese, Rick Moranis, Sadie Frost, and a very naked and new to the movies Catherine Zeta Jones...it's riot
