It's not that there aren't 'moments' in Buffy which would make even the most he men around get misty eyed, but Spike and Buffy goin' at it ? You'd best ease up on the loafer lightener. I think the fumes have gone to your head.

She was making a choice to hurt herself, and possibly destroy her relationship with her friends. It was one of the most lost moments she went through, and it hit me the same way a suicide attempt would. To feel something, she was risking her very soul, almost literally!

Yes. I don't know about him being him in love with Joyce, I think it was more of a mother-father dynamic with himself and Joyce rather than him being madly in love with her but this scene will never lose its poignancy. Thing is, to the casual viewer who hasn't seen 'Band Candy' it will mean almost nothing but to see him sit down with it on (does he have a glass of Scotch at the time?) and stare into memory, it gets me everytime. Excellent choice, and thank you for bringing it to mind.

I've been re-watching Buffy for the umpteenth time (it always starts with.."I'll just watch _____ episode" and ends up with me watching all seven seasons)...and it just dawned on me how often Xander was actually the pivotal character in the finale. Screw Buffy. It's all about Xander. :D He does right. A lot.
