given that it's not too hard to atleast keep spoilers out of the titles, i'd have to disagree-plus, on a bord like this, plenty of folk (myself for one) saw ff and THEN came 'round to buffy, and watched recently/are watching it.

Right, of course. because I (like many others) had no real desire to watch the show when it aired (partly because when it started I was seven years old) I deserve to have plot lines ruined by people who just want to ask a question, makes perfect sense!

I apologize if I was guilty of any of it. Honestly don't remember.

I get a little excited, I know, and might forget that there are people here who are behind on the Buffy/Angelverse. I don't believe that just because the show has been over for several years that it's any reason to decide that others should be okay with being spoiled.

It's not only rude toward new viewers, it also might give them the impression that they shouldn't bother if they already know what's going to happen...and that's just WRONG!!!!

Will check to see if I'm responsible for any of it and try to correct it.

Again, I'm sorry if any of it's my fault!

I knew about what was going to happen in BtVS and Angel before I got around to watching it because of the posts on this and other boards. It still didn't stop me from reacting to the death of Tara or certain other things and events that happened to some of the other characters.

It is the responsibility of the person who comes in here to monitor what they see and read. No one is forcing them.

Guy... yours is a reasonable request if the show came out more recently, but I have to agree with SigmaNunki here.... For something that first aired ELEVEN years ago, people may not automatically think to point "SPOILER" in a thread title to warn people.

If I were in your position - and I have been - I would naturally assume that a tremendous amount of people have seen it (especially considering this is a Joss Whedon fan site) and, gosh, there might just be some spoilers around. Expecting people to keep "secrets" that are anywhere from 4 to 11 years old is unreasonable.

I understand your plight, and it must be incredibly frustrating for you, and I shall endeavour to keep titles free of spoilers. However you are always going to get people who unwittingly say something that could spoil it for you. It isn't malicious or intentional, but as Hell's Kitten said Buffy was aired 11 years ago. If you can't come to a forum and discuss things freely after 11 years when can you.

Pryor to seeing Buffy and Angel, I read just about EVERY spoiler, and STILL loved the whole thing(s)!

I even read the spoiler where Buffy was finally killed by Caleb, torn to shreds, and sent to Hell. It prepared me for a sad but meaningful end to the series...
