Is anyone else out there preordeering the BDCE? I ordered one from Amazon.com and one from Universal. Like all BCs, I need one to keep and one to loan

I'm thinking I'll purchase some locally after August 21st, for holiday Gifts. But Preordering now assures that 1) You'll get one lol, and 2)That Universal will get early notice that Fans are still very much "into" the 'verse!

Just a little update and reminder for Phase One of Operation Signal Boost....

Plenty of places to preorder the BDCE now, and get Universal's Attention; Letting them know we're here and Supportive of the CE release. The Universal Website, Amazon.com, deepdiscount.com, Walmart.com, Target.com, Best Buy, Borders, Barnes and Nobles....

Cant' Stop The Serenity... please attend a screening near you, if possible, and/or make a contribution to Equality Now! Why? Because it's a good thing to do, and...

June was a great month. Lots of folks preordered the Serenity Collector's Edition, and/or passed the word about it's pending release in August. Can't Stop The Serenity was a huge success. exceeding their goal of $100,000 for Equality Now. Congratulations to all involved, from the Volunteers to those who attended, and even those who helped spread the word about it.

A lot of the projects that were planned for July have changed, because of the early success of the "awareness" of the Collector's Edition. Most large Retailers will indeed be carrying the BDCE, at least on the Internet. On the local level, it's still a good idea to go to your local retailers and find out if they're going to carry it. But the larger chains, for the most part, will have it.

Public Awareness is still lacking, and thats where Guerilla Marketing comes in.

Universal HD Channel has announced that Firefly will be shown as a weekly Series starting July 28th, and The Sci/Fi Channel will be showing a Firefly Marathon from 8am to 4pm on August 10th. These Banners can be used on the Internet of course, but they also make great flyers and the Banners in particular make great Bookmarks. Bookstores (especially those that sell dvds), coffee houses and Libraries are all great places to leave these bookmarks.

Got a couple questions...

First off - is it legal in the US to stick flyers into mailboxes? Doesn't seem like it would be terrible annoying (hey, it might be considered spam... but it's entertaining spam!), but it might be "tampering with the mail system", etc.

And what about just dumping a few into those big blue mailboxes available for public use? Sure, they wouldn't get sent anywhere, but the mail people sure would notice!

And also, here's MY idea:

It's easy and quick, and it's legal (just look at all the Where's George? stuff) - write "Watch Firefly and Serenity on DVD" on dollar bills! Then spend them, and when you get some more... write some more.

How does that sound?
