The BBC poll at http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6517155.stm now shows Serenity slipping in the standing. This morning she was at 32.15 now she is at 32.10. Please vote!

but so is Star Wars 34.39

Yet, we are ever so slightly gaining.

I've seen this happen before; and it seems to be continuing. A sudden rush of votes. It seems to favor Star Wars, but it seems like all the shows get votes. Perhaps someone is prodcasting TV updates of the poll? That would be interesting.

These are number relative to (ET) 9:30pm 5/4 to 11:30pm 5/5 (so the "today" is relative to that span)

Well, over the last hour and half, each show gained:
Serenity 63
Star Wars 39
That's two days worth of "normal" voting. At least we are holding our own.

I am finding nothing via google. If anyone figures out what triggered this vote spree, I'd be interested to learn of it.

Hey Leadb, how did you figure out how many votes were cast? I can only access percent of all votes cast to this point.

The short answer is "I use a spread sheet"

Basicly, take the stats from one run; multiply the percentage of the vote against the vote total at the snap shot. This gives the total votes for the moment. Then subtract the votes from one snapshot to the next. For my "daily" totals, I try to grab the snapshot about the same time each day; life interfers at times, so it might be off an hour or two.

There -will- be rounding errors because there's over 10,000 votes, and they only publish 4points of precision on the page for the percentages.
