I may be wrong, but weren't ninjas the japanese version of pirates? Still I say ninjas because true ninjas are easy to reproduce, true pitates kill each other.

but...but ninjas have the pointy pokers that they poke people with...and...and they can be invisible and...and...um...and they have demons trapped inside of their bodies! well...at least some do pirates are cool, but ninjas are better...so is Firefly...and anime...
