VERONICA MARS cancelled--The CW wants to display their *CRAP* banner proudly!!!

Edit 5/18/07: Hope the CW is as happy as the WB was in cancelling ANGEL and Fox was in cancelling FIREFLY. This is just as devastating to me. Just like with ANGEL season five, when things were looking up and most believed that it would return, that's when they yank it away.
Edit 5/10/07: I've recently read on both TVGuide (Michael Ausseilo's blog) and Zap2it.com that the CW head was pretty impressed by the presentation of FBI Veronica and the chances have improved of it coming back. Sounds like there will be major cast changes (obviously) with Kristen Bell the only guaranteed return. Also, the title will likely change, too.
So, far as I'm concerned, YAY!!!

I'm trying desperately not to freak over this. The ep. from the other night reminded me once again how much I love this show and these characters. God, I hope we don't lose them!! I would love it either way, if the show continued as it is, or flash-forwarded to FBI Veronica. I would miss the rest of the cast of course but doubt they wouldn't find some way to allow them to pop up now and again so we can see how they all turned out four years later.

What I had heard originally (quite q while back, I might add) was that it came down to either VM or GG getting renewed. If one was renewed, the other would be gone. Honestly, I'm hoping that's still the case, because that would mean VM wins lol.
But if they do cancel it....I'll be done with the CW as soon as Smallville is over. Just like I'll be done with F*X is they ever get rid of Bones.

Yep, heard that one, too. But I've heard other things since then, so I don't know.
There was a recent poll done by Kristen from EOnline (a regular thing for her), where she picked a group of doomed shows and asked people to vote on which one they'd save. This poll has been done (I think) six years up til now and Kristen sends the responses and the poll results to the networks of that show to try to help save it. Five shows out of the last 6 that won were brought back (I'm guessing the one that didn't make it was ANGEL because it was hugely popular on that board at the time). Anyway, Veronica was the clear winner of this years poll, until last minute Gilmore fans chimed in and won out. The results were still close, I think, because Kristen ended up declaring a tie even though GG was ahead slightly. She was going to send the results on behalf of both shows. Well, we know now it didn't help GG, so I'm wondering if it helped Veronica.
Then again, the decision to end GG possibly could have been more about the cast not wanting to continue than the network wanting it to end.
BTW, if you like to be spoiled, go to Spoilerfix.com. There's some interesting stuff coming up, especially regarding Logan/Veronica/Piz. I'm no shipper, but I'm definitely excited to see what happens here!

Hey,
I am over in Ireland and can only watch Veronica on DVD. I got the first season due to Joss's recommendation (that sounds like we were having a chat one day over drinks!!) and I am absolutely loving it.
I am delighted to hear that a brilliant, excellently written show with wonderful characters may actually survive for once.
Have already ordered the second season.

I read that Gilmore ended because Lauren G and Alexis B basically said they were done. TBH it was in its death roll when Amy SP went. I can't say I watched more than a couple of times but it was often witty.
VM I've loved from day one. The first season screened in prime time here in NZ and I loved it. Then nothing for 18 months. Suddenly TVNZ brings back the second season two weeks ago at 3.00pm on a Sunday. WTF? I have to set the machine to record it and watch it later in the week. Insanity.
