Beagles, as an alternative smuggling cargo to cows...

"We are exporting democracy because we have all of this unused democracy lying around at home. Why not make some money doing it?"

Some really great suggestions so far.

How about Jayne looking for a clean shirt and he finds the Blue Sun one that River sliced w/ the butcher knife. He grumbles something and tosses it in the garbage.

"May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one."

Crazy Ivan wasn't coined by Firefly. It is the term used to describe in general, Soviet submariners and in specific, the turning a ship 180 degrees and has been around since the early days of the cold war.

One example of it being used in modern cinema is in "The Hunt for Red October" when Jack Ryan is trying to convince the American sub captain that he understands the Russian Captain. He tells him that 'at the top of the hour, he'll do a Crazy Ivan'.

"Just keep walkin, preacher man."

How about someone ordering mudder's milk in a bar?

Whatever it is - and you know there will be something - I'm sure it'll be gorram clever!

Y'know, even if Joss doesn't put anything in there deliberately, I'm sure we'll all find something that relates back as an inside joke... And if we don't see it the first time, we'll just have to keep going to see the movie - over, and over, and over - until we do!

(What better way to ensure the movie's success? )

I also second the "we NEED the big red button" thing. Browncoat1. if that was the beginning... no words. that'd be just so very, very cool.

Fade from black

Shot of empty bridge. Mal walks in. Look at big red button. Looks out a viwer. Presses big red button. Gives viewers a sly wink. Walks out.

Fade to black

Roll movie.

Even better- Joss pushes it. Then Mal comes up onto the bridge and starts talking to him, so Joss has a cameo as a potential passenger on Serenity or something.

I like ice cream 'cause it doesn't have any bones in it.

Among other great ideas already lsited, I would like to see a shot of Kaylee's frilly dress. From Shindig I think?

I'd like to hear River quote Jubal Early at some point: "Now does that seem right to you?"

I am torn on how I'd like to see "Hero of Canton" used.

v.1: Jayne singing it to himself while cleaning Vera, and cutting off when someone walks in

v.2: having one the crew (Simon? Wash?) singing it and cutting off when Jayne walks in.

Simon doing target practice in the cargo bay. Book walks up, observes targets, pats Simon on the back smiling, says "Better... better...", walks off.

I'm all for the big red button on the bridge too.

Maybe they should also put Kaylee's "big layer cake of a dress" up somewhere too?
