ah--what about booklets that cover which eps are on which discs? I found that to be a plus the few times I did feel compelled to go back and look for a certain episode, for whatever reason.

Other than Firefly, the only Whedon set I had was Angel Season 5, and a "friend" borrowed it, and never returned it before moving to friggin' Vegas.

I honestly couldn't live without them either. Yes, I hate the way the original dvd's are made, too. I try to find space long enough to get the later discs out and I risk them being trampled on by a suddenly-curious kitty. No, they're not technically allowed on certain pieces of furniture, but I gave up trying to have the control around here a long time ago. 
Good thing they're cute!
