I don't have cable, and have been buying it as it comes out on DVD...but I'm hearing grumblings about season 3 sucking or something. Is it worth getting, or is the series crapped out?

Yes.

BTW, did you see Joel Silver announced yesterday he is remaking Logan's Run??? Didn't you & I discuss how we'd both like to see this redone?

Yes!

EDIT: Yes you should buy it. No, the series isn't crapped out.

Yeah, and I voted 'NOT', but if they do the novel, and not just a remake of the movie itself, then it might be great.
The Omega Man is also being re-done (I Am Legend) with Will Smith- that one should be really good!

Agreed. The novel was much better than the movie. As I remember, the novel went on much further, recounting their life after the domes, than the movie did.

Actually, all happened the world over- no domes- but the transport train could get you across continents fast.
The sequel, Logan's World, was great, too.

EDIT: I totally reccomend reading both!!!

Sadly, the third was not necessary, or good either.

Well, the original is now over 30 years old, so its about due to be "renewed"

Or maybe even "reimagined".
