I have a bunch of sound clips for Windows functions to keep me in the Firefly mood no matter what I'm doing on my 'puter.
Insert device: "River? Why don't you come on out?" "No. Can't. Too. Much. Hair."
Remove device: "River honey? He's putting the hair away now." "Doesn't matter. It'll still be there. Waiting."
Error: "Two by two... hands of blue."
Improper shutdown: "See there Vera? Dress yourself up, get taken somewhere fun."
Email notification: "And despite our best efforts, they... they kicked."
Windows startup: Plays Firefly theme
Windows shutdown: "Our love for me now ain't hard to explain, the Hero of Canton, the one they call meeeeeee."
My desktop background used to be Serenity, but now it's a picture of Samsara against a starfield from IntotheBlack.ca.

Man I thought I was the only BROWNCOAT who did this, but I tend not to have sound clips for all my Window fuctions only a few.
My
start up: Serenity theme
Shutdown: Love, 22nd track on the Serenity OST,gets me every time I shutdown
Wallpaper: changes almost daily but always is Serenity/Firefly related
I'm at college now so I can't check all my Window sounds
DOes anybody have a wallpaper of the blue sun logo cause the biggest pic I've got is like 400pxx400px.
Don't suppose you could send me your sound files in a .zip to

When searching for Blue Sun logo I typed Blue Sun in google images & look what I found its a mitake on the milk adverts a few years ago they had one where Brandon Routh dresses as Superman with milky moustache promoting Milk is good for you

Wow, you guys rock! I wish I was technologically savvy enough to create soundbites for windows messages! Anyone willing and able to send those bits to me to turn my own machine into a homage to Firefly?

Do a search for "firefly wav". You can save the "wav" files to your computer and then go into "Sounds and Audio Devices" in your Control Panel and assign the new wav file to different window functions.
