Sorry, and no offense to anyone, but I gotta RANT.
[RANT MODE]There's got to be better ways to get new characters in the story than just have them appear from of nowhere and stick a thumb out, or run up the ramp in a hail of bullets. It really strains credulity that a ship involved in a risky smuggling operation would be taking on unknown folk at the rate and in the ways we've been doing it. I know everyone wants to have their own identity and arc, but introducing new characters should be done in a way that logically fits the overall story. I think we could have done this.
It may be that I see RP as telling a story that should be internally consistant, whereas most folk see it as playing a fantasy game full of coincidences and chance meetings. Maybe I need to change my paradigm.
I don't want anyone to think I'm not enjoying our adventure. It's big fun and good mental excercise. Guess maybe I'm just being a Geezer.[/RANT MODE]

I see your point and agree, Geezer. Such is the beauty of the "edit" function in our posts here in the Firefly Universe, that it is possible to update a post to reflect a more appropo meeting. Perhaps that is something to consider.

Tempting, but I think we're too far along in this episode to go back. I probably need to go browse some other roleplays to find out what's generally accepted. I'd bet my take is way to the linear, not-to-many-surprises, stodgy, side of the bell-curve.

Slight makes his way to the starboard shuttle, opening the hatch with ease. 500 plat seems like a good salary to start with.

The starboard (right side) shuttle is Inara's. Please don't highjack Inara's shuttle. Thorne and Inara have to get together there later on. Maybe you were thinking 'port' shuttle? Just leave Damon's stuff out on the catwalk.

Actually, could we not steal a shuttle at all? There's plenty of transport, man-portable surface-to-air missles, and pretty much anything else you'd like in the hidden warehouse. Just walk down the ramp and take it. Slight has already told Mal he's getting off here, and Thorne has offered his equipment and support, so no sneakery is needed.
