I'm Baaaack!

Getting to a computer on a regular basis for the last few days has been more problematic than I thought it would be. Visiting relatives leads to more visiting relatives and going to lunch and going to dinner and...

Anyway, Happiest of Birthdays to all you birthday folk. May you have as many more as you want.

I'll need a little time to read the accumulated emails and threads, but should be back to speed (as much as I ever am) later on this evening. Looks like some interesting developments. Maybe I should leave more often.

Back in a bit...and expect responses to any emails too.

Hi all, thanks for the happy birthday wishes. So far I'm having a wonderful birthday. I celebrated with my family on Saterday evening cuz my dad is gone during the week. We had a yummy dinner and did presents. Today Mom took me out to lunch at Olive Garden and we are having another dinner tonight with some friends. My parents are buying me a new desk for my room. Mom and I looked at some today and I fell in love with one of them. Thanks to that desk, I finally have an idea of how to decorate my room. So we're also making plans for new shelves, staining my head and footboards on my bed, getting proper curtains and a better light! Its about time that I get my room done... its been a year and a half since I moved into it and so far I haven't done anything with it.

I've also decided on a major. I'm going to be a nurse. So now I have a goal. No more guessing at which classes I should take, no more worrying about taking something that I don't need. And when that annoying question is asked: What are you going to major in? I'll have an answer.

Anyway, glad to have you back, Geezer!
And here's to all of the brilliant minds of the Gunrunners! and the great story we are making together!

RECAP TIME

As Wash noted, we're 20 minutes from grounding in Serenity Valley. Time for a little recap and sketch of what's coming up in the next 90 minutes (RP time). Trying to leave enough slack in the story so folks can pick up their own threads of choice.

We'll be landing facing a small hillock. A hundred meters or so away will be the ruins of a substantial brick building, the only man-made object visible on the lifeless floor of Serenity Valley.

Thorne will locate the conex container of guns, and the functional (non-wounded) crew will load it (takes about and hour) while Damon installs the laser (anybody wanna help him?) Thorne will go over to the ruins. Book will follow. Exposition from Thorne. He meets Merz, not an unexpected occurrance. Any other meetings, partings, discussions?(hint to some)

Cargo loaded and laser installed (I hope. Will it work?), the bad guys come over the horizon. Let's split. Someone's staying behind anyway, so can he/she provide a little covering fire? Off into the atmo. Heroic flying, shooting, engineering win the day. Off into the black and time for another recap. Sound OK to the cast?

Current Locations

MAL - On his way to the cargo bay

Damon - Port shuttle. Getting ready to go set up the Fosgate laser cannon for installation

Simon/River/Rowan/Slight - Infirmary. Simon & Slight making up. Rowan now green-eyed. River - Being There.

Book/Inara - Mess Hall. Inara about to take Jayne some tea. Maybe Book has put something in the tea that will sober Jayne up quickly, if not gently.

Zoe - Common Area. Having just called Wash on the comm. About to head for the cargo bay and look for Mal.

Jayne - Cargo bay. Singing softly to himself

Wash - Bridge. Driving

Kaylee - Engine room. Engineering

Thorne - His cabin. Remembering. About to head for the common area.

Mercedes Troy - In the ruins of the Thorne family farm, Serenity Valley. Waiting.

Niska/Early/Saffron - Out there somewhere. Suggestions?

Alliance fighters - closing in. Maybe 80 minutes out.

Receivers of stolen guns - New Hokkaido.

Lights. Cameras. Action!
