It is just hilarious to me, still, to this day! Especially because that was MY exact reaction to Spike's dream about Buffy in "Out of My Mind" and the entire 'Spike like-likes Buffy' thing. Disturbing and laugh-out-loud funny at the same time. I'd ended up suspecting it was genuine love even before it was proven in "Intervention", but the whole ride there was just plain brilliant.

Better yet, go watch "The Pack", the part when Xander attacks Buffy. I swear, some of the things he says to her are almost identical to Spike later on in the series.
