Damon is heading to the engine room to get some tools. I'm actually curious what kind of reaction he's going to get from Kaylee, cuz her last one caught me completely off guard. Damon wasn't lecturing Mal as much as talking to himself and didn't even know that Kaylee was the engineer. (though I totally understand that Kaylee's reaction had more to do with her frustration with Simon)
Anyway, Capn, I realize that Damon's trip might be badly timed because you and Kaylee had a 'date' so if he's in the way, feel free to have him get what he needs and leave. I just thought this would be a good opportunity for another brief Kaylee interaction.

OK, here is what I have got for public consumption:

Linking Story Line(s)
A) The crew of the Serenity aid 2 new passengers. One in finding a loved one lost to slavers and the other a chance to find peace & stop running from the very same slavers.

B) Serenity receives a fractured and broken up distress call. The message conveys that Rowan's husband, Xiang, is in need of aid.

C) Simon has disappeared shortly after leaving Serenity in "Adventures in GunRunning" and he has a message from someone called Xiang. It seems that he was captured by some organization called the 'Enclave'. Simon's wave then shorts out.

Central Story Line
Adelai Niska has returned and taken control of the Enclave by a short and nearly bloodless coup. He institues MANY changes.

Timeframe
Initial: 6 days after "Adventures in GunRunning". The crew has rested, relaxed and got to know one another - until they get a distress wave from Simon.

1st Planetary Transit: 2 weeks to Inner-Rim System of Tophet, on a mined out moon named Dis. Where the crew find the hidden & abandoned ship of Thorne's. It holds the clue to the next planetfall.

2nd Planetary Transit: 3 weeks to Outer-Core system of Hydora, planet of the same name.

OH BTW Dragonfly Director's note on Merz: She is somewhat undetectable by radar, infrared, UV and most other sensing devices.
