"Grey, use channel 2, and try the roof of the hotel on the other side of the jail. This happened before, and I can't be here. If I'm here, people die. I have to go. Tell her I'm sorry."
*JadeHand removes a nametag from under a coat, changing shape to his normal self. He turns and leaves the group to return to the Sereni-Tree. Once on board, he heads to the hanger bay, and departs on board Ocean Cloud. Vanishing into the black.*

TheRealMe draws figures in the dirt while others gather about to see.

“Okay, this rectangle is the jailhouse. It does not share a wall with other buildings, which is good. These are the surrounding buildings near it: a saloon, a general store, some residences… Here is the water tower on the edge of town. It has a good field of view of the area and I believe that TheGreyJedi is already there. Grey?”

“In position,” Grey replies over the com-link.

TheRealMe continues. “We want to cover the place from all directions, just in case our foes try to escape out the back or to nearby buildings. I figure that someone can walk up in the street to challenge Mai’s captor, draw his attention, perhaps call him out. If he does not come out, then at least his attention will be held while I open a dimensional portal inside the jailhouse, and some of us can invade directly.

“The problem, of course, is if our foe uses Mai as a hostage or a human shield. Without Static the Gunslinger here, I am not certain that we have the kind of weapon accuracy to take him out with Mai in the way. I don’t know how to solve this problem unless Jake7 can envelope her inside a force field. That is the best I can come up with, which means that Jake7 must come along with the assault force.

“So it seems to me that we have several roles. We need snipers in various locations to cover the jailhouse from all directions, of which Grey in the tower is one. We need some brave fool to walk up, talk to the guy, and draw his attention. Then we need an assault force to go inside via dimensional portal.

“We also have some problems. We don’t know the number, skill levels, or determination of our opponents. We don’t know what kind of armament they possess inside the jailhouse. We don’t know if perhaps there are underground tunnels by which they could escape. If we could do some reconnaissance, that would be great. But we are all newcomers here, unlikely to be trusted or allowed near.

"Oh, we also have my horse, Aluminum. It is possible we could try a deception whereby some of us try to turn in others to the local law, but that might be stupidly dangerous. I don't know.

“So, ideas? Anyone want to modify, comment on, or entirely re-write this plan? Any volunteers for various roles?”

SR to Fin "Hello there young man, I have every confidence that you are going to be a real handful as time passes, but for now I'm pleased to meet you. Do we have stories for you when you're old enough to understand them."

SR to Seryn : "He's very cute and I have to say in that respect he takes after his mother."

SR to TRM "Well I could go into that saloon over there and get good and drunk and start a brawl and get myself thrown in the pokey for the night till I sober up and when they let me out in the morning I might have some answers as to a lot of those 'we don't know's' that we have on the table. The more information we have the better our chances of success. Of course I'm just thinking it would be nice to have a drink. If that's what we're doing someone should hold on to my shooting iron, I don't want to kill anyone in the saloon and if the sherriff gets a good look at it he'll know there's something wrong with me. You don't bring a M16 to the Battle of the Bulge."

OOC: I can write the part about drinking and brawling, but once i'm clapped in irons I suggest someone else take over, because obviously you guys have a idea what's going on here, I'm just along for the ride.
