"It's...a sorta permenant deal." He sighs. "I don't have a lot of these, so I was hoping not to have to use it." He hops off his horse and reaches into an inside pocket of his longcoat. He pulls out a small glass vial, about two inches long and a quarter inch in diameter, full of a deep red liquid. He pops the cap of and pours the small amount of fluid in the palm of his right hand. Using his left hand he draws a rough symbol onto a rock. He grabs his cane from his horse, mutters a few words and brings the hammer head top of his cane down on the center of the symbol. The symbol lights up to a bright red and slowly burns away. "That should do it. Anyone with spirit sensitivity should be able to see anything floating about in Not-Quite-Our-Space-Time."

Grey grins darkly. "Well, the short answer is yes." Grey looks around at his comrades noting the looks varying from nonplussed to utterly revolted. He sighs and waves his hand. "It's my own blood. Some time ago I came to the realization I wouldn't always be a virgin, so I...set some aside for a rainy day." He coughs.

"I'm...not entirely sure. As I said, I've only got experience with the not-so-living. If Mai were floating about out of body, this should allow those who can feel or sense spirits to see, essentially, her mental projection...her avatar, if you will. At least, in theory, anyway."

OOC: I was thinking of reappearing sooner, but this whole virgin blood conversation is just too hilarious!

Ok, so cute babies not so much with the being helpful... Now what?

Maybe, just maybe, if I concentrate... *reaches out and tries to tap Serenity on the shoulder, but hands pass right through her.

Ok, on to plan B, what the HELL is plan B!

*the scene of the her friends and their surroundings suddenly begins to fade in and out.
darkness starts to creep into the peripheral vision... then nothing but complete blackness.

Several minutes later, Mai slowly awakens to a viscious headache. Reaching up to feel her temple her hand comes away covered in blood. She tries to sit up and then promptly passes out again, back to the dark.

*Serenity tries very hard to concentrate on seeing something floating in the Not-Quite-Our-Space-Time, but doesn't see anything. Suddenly, however, she gets this strange feeling, like her shoulder suddenly went numb. She whips around her, but doesn't seen anything, and the feeling is gone.*

"Well, let's see what this does."

Soul takes a deep breath and focuses, forcing his body to begin to phase in place. Someone a long time ago had told him that when phasing, he was actually moving between several dimensions before returning to his, so if Mai was around...just maybe...

He lets his vision shift, passing through several strange incarnations of the western town until...a figure begins to shimmer, and Mai appears. Soul reaches out for her, but just as suddenly, she is gone, and--

"Soul!"

Snapped back to solidity, Soul turns to the group.

"I saw her! She's here, or at least she was."
