I thought they did psychological profiles on these people! Aren't they supposed to be stable, able to work well with a lot of ppl, and up to the rigors of stress and long hours in small quarters with.... oh, nevermind!

Reality sucks. Especially when it contradicts our cherished ideas.

Actually I think it helps to be a little insane. As America's first Astronaut said.

It’s a very sobering feeling to be up in space and realize that one’s safety factor was determined by the lowest bidder on a government contract.

Your comment betrays a shocking lack of understanding for the complexity and rigor of space travel. I don't understand what she did, but NASA has the smartest people in the world, so I'm not going to question the way things are done or why and simply accept that they are furthering my understanding of the universe.

And as usual, your comment betrays a shocking lack of understanding about, well , anything.

That could be the toll taken by space psychosis.

As I heard it( but don't know for certain ), 3 of her classmates in the NASA program were lost on the Columbia mission. Don't underestimate that weight she's been carrying around as she continued on w/ the shuttle program.

The shuttle program is winding down. There are only a limited number of missions left, with so many astronauts to fly those missions. The pressure to stay at the very top of the top at NASA and be awarded another chance to fly must be immense.

I mention these things not as a defense, but just to show that it likely isn't just a 'NASA' thing. Just that there could be all sorts of things going on in her life, we have no idea.

That all involved in this triangle are married, and that kids are involved in at least the suspects case, is a real tragedy.

The charges against her have been raised to 'Attempted Murder', which means a whole new world of suck. I'll bet she's wishing she'd just stayed home right about now.

Well I'm reading the article, thinking to myself, "Chasing someone through a parking lot at night and spraying them with pepper spray? Not that much of a stretch when emotions run high." and then I got to this part:

Quote:

excerpted from CNN article
...

Inside a bag Nowak was carrying, the officer found a tan trench coat, a new steel mallet, a new folding knife with a 4-inch blade, 3 to 4 feet of rubber tubing, large plastic garbage bags and about $600 in cash, the report said.

Nowak admitted the details of Shipman's allegations, according to the police report, and permitted a search of her car.

Inside the car, police found an a half-dozen latex gloves, MapQuest directions from Houston to Orlando International Airport, e-mails from Shipman to Oefelein, diapers that Nowak said she used to eliminate stops along the highway, a letter indicating how much she loved Oefelein and directions to Shipman's home address in Florida, the report said.

...

Sex in space is hazardous to your mental health?

Pesky space radiation causing brain damage? Even the shuttle gets a heavy dose when it gets too close to the Van Allen Radiation Belt force field.

Quote:

Bart Sibrel:

In 1998, the Space Shuttle flew to one of its highest altitudes ever, three hundred fifty miles, hundreds of miles below merely the beginning of the Van Allen Radiation Belts. Inside of their shielding, superior to that which the Apollo astronauts possessed, the shuttle astronauts reported being able to "see" the radiation with their eyes closed penetrating their shielding as well as the retinas of their closed eyes. For a dental x-ray on Earth which lasts 1/100th of a second we wear a 1/4 inch lead vest. Imagine what it would be like to endure an hour and a half of radiation that you can see with your eyes closed from hundreds of miles away with 1/8 of an inch of aluminum shielding! After this new generation of NASA astronauts encountered this unpredicted surprise, CNN (another "uncredentialed" source) issued the following report:

Quote:

"The radiation belts surrounding Earth may be more dangerous for astronauts than previously believed The phenomenon known as the 'Van Allen Belts' can spawn 'Killer Electrons' that can dramatically affect the astronauts' health."

NASA "genius" and college dropout Jack Parsons (JPL) was a Satanist who had sex with his mommy trying to resurrect the anti-Christ. Then he and his mommy murdered themselves in 2 "accidental" explosions.

Sex and Rockets

When JPL co-founder and occultist Jack Parsons wasn't busy building rockets, he was chatting up the "whore of Babylon." It's been nearly three decades since Thomas Pynchon pondered the psychic connections between sex, rockets and the Kabala in his convoluted novel "Gravity's Rainbow." But even that was 30 years after Jack Parsons embraced that oddly compelling trinity -- as a self-taught chemist and co-founder of Pasadena's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), who devoted much of his life to magic and following the occult mage Aleister Crowley. Parsons is the captivating subject of a new biography called "Sex and Rockets: The Occult World of Jack Parsons."

THE MANIFESTO OF THE ANTICHRIST

by Jack Parsons

I, BELARION, ANTICHRIST, in the year 1949 of the rule of the Black Brotherhood called Christianity, do make my Manifesto to all men. And I, THE ANTICHRIST, come among you, saying:

An end to the pretense, and lying hypocrisy of Christianity.

An end to the servile virtues, and superstitious restrictions. An end to the slave morality.

An end to prudery and shame, to guilt and sin, for these are of the only evil under the Sun, that is fear.

An end to all authority that is not

Hi all,

Here's my take on this:

Astronauts are examined five ways from Sunday to be sure that they are medically and mentally fit. There have got to be very, very few careers that get you put under the microscope the way being an astronaut does.

That having been said, the human animal is an inherently flawed beast that does some really f'ed up stuff much of the time. There's no guarantees that a well-tested individual won't have a breakdown or flip out. There's no need for space-sickness or astro-radiation in this equation.

Human beings are INHERENTLY prone to failure.

I actually take comfort in the knowledge that the very finest examples of humanity aren't demonstrably better adjusted than the rest of us.

We all aren't that different, after all.

--Anthony

P.S. Hero, I got the joke the first time you said it.

It's a joke. She's just another crazy bitch trapped in a Jewish love triangle. That's why she joined the military, to go kill innocent people. Probably voted for George Duhbya Bush.

A lack of brains and lack of sanity is a job requirement for the space races, which already murdered over 1,000 astronot draftees. Like copsters are required to score LOW on I.Q. tests as condition for employment, and "Intelligence" police are required to pass lie detector tests WHILE LYING.

The most likely causes for her insanity are a combination of "mandatory vaccinations", fluoridated water, and prescription psy meds, combined with mandatory govt training in how to murder human beings. Maybe she got bit by one of Pentagon's bioweaponized ecephalitis mosquito squdrons? Or is she a crack ho like JEB Bush's daughter, thanks to CIA narcoterrorists?

Deep analytical thoughts on Anapolis Naval Academy graduate, US Navy test pilot and NASA space shuttle robot operator run amok:

"What makes somebody into a stalker?"

Brought to you by CNN, the most trusted name in news for hating Arab Semites, that stalks mommies until they suicide themselves. Too bad Melinda Duckett didn't get a restraining order against Nancy Grace.

Note that Capt Psycho's govt job requirement was wearing diapers and carrying Weapons of Mass Destruction, while speeding between 500mph and 17,000mph...
