But it work SO well as a story too!

Meh. For a start it has Xander summoning the demon to try and make everyone feel better. Geez...

1. Prophecy Girl
2. Passion. Passion Passion Passion. I swear. I feel guilty picking a non-Joss episode, but holy crap. Passion a billion times over. Becoming Part 2 is a semi-close runner-up, but damn. PASSION. I think it might be the best episode of anything that has ever aired on television. The scene in Giles's apartment alone would have won it that award, but then it has so much more.

Okay, done gushing. Now I have to think up one for season 3.
3. Maybe Choices. I dunno. Graduation Day Pt. 2 is awesome, and on another day it probably would've been my pick for best of the year, but... it's just so satisfying when Willow finally talks to Faith with the whole "get over yourself" bit. It's a satisfying scene, and the whole episode raises interesting issues (one person you love dying vs. the entire world dying, etc.) and gives Willow some nice growth. As well as letting her stake a vamp. That was hot.
4. Who Are You. Partly because, in the script on the DVD, it begins with a note along the lines of, "In the following episode, Sarah Michelle Gellar will be playing the role of Faith, and Eliza Dushku will be playing the role of Buffy." Thinking of it in that way just made the whole thing that much cooler.
5. The Body. I can't watch it very often, but... man.
6. Grave. I heart OMWF, and the episodes dealing with Buffy's return from heaven (which I thought was a good way to handle what would have been an otherwise terrible idea, namely, reviving Buffy yet again), but Xander's being the one to stop Willow was... perfect. I couldn't have asked for it any other way.
7. Chosen. It was Conversations, but Chosen won out. Way to end on a high, high note. Like, that last-C-before-the-piano-keys-end high. That C stands for Chosen.

All right, sorry. I didn't mean to make each one a mini-review, but I couldn't go without commenting on Passion, and then I just got carried away.

HONKS
