Curious, what about my last post made you start the dream sequence? Was it the "evils of drink" sermon on the way?

Yep, your evils of drinks sermon it was. I was waiting for the right time and it jumped up and slapped me in the face. I would have had to be very thick to have missed it.

Stay calm Ciara - keep breathing.

Hey, got a story tweak for you. Simon's about to remove Rowan's contacts and reveal green eyes - a fluke throwback gene from her mother's Irish side of the family. An Asian woman with green eyes would be pretty unusual, and it occurred to me today that it would be a great way to create a connection between Inara and Rowan's sister, Aislin. Aislin could have been one of Inara's tutors once upon a time. Working closely together, they may have had conversations about their lives before, and Aislin could have mentioned that Rowan would have been at the House on Sihnon if not for her more inflamatory character, and mentioned Rowan has the most "unusual" green eyes. Aislin would tell Inara she thought they were stunning and always envied Rowan such a unique characteristic. Of course all she ever said to her younger sister was the "unusual" part, and not in a nice way.

Thoughts?

aaaaah sounds fantastic, Channy--let's do that.

REQUESTING INPUT FOR THE NEXT ADVENTURE

Just want to get sort of a headstart on the next Gunrunners story, so we don't have to suffer through any downtime after AinGR ends.

I believe we should decide a few general things first, before we get down to specific storylines.

1)Do we want the next story to pick up where AinGR ends?

2)Do we want to lay out a TV episode format (Teaser, four acts, Coda) or just let it roll again in 'Major Motion Picture' mode?

3)Will we be looking for any more guest stars/cast members?

We can discuss these questions here, plus any other major issues you can think of, or you can email me your opinions ( fireflygeezer@cox.net ), which I'll ignore and do exactly what I want.

I await your input, Oh Crafty Gunrunners.

Here's my opinion on the questions:

1.) I think that we could go both ways on this one, but it might be... cleaner? if we give AinGR a well planned ending (ie: don't leave any unfinished conversations or actions) and start fresh with the mini series. we might start it almost exactly where we left AinGR but at least we'll make it clear that they are two different RP games.

Am I making any sense? I don't trust my words at 8.30 in the morning.

2.) I vote for Major Motion Picture mode because that way we won't have to feel limited by a set number of acts. pre-planning acts seems like an unnecessary hassel. The only time I can see that we might NEED pre-planned acts is at the end of a RP, like we are doing now- wraping it up.

3.) Not that I can tell. All of the major roles are filled and I can't think of any other guest roles that we need. of coarse someone could show up with a new character and want to join us never know when those damn newbies might show up... lol

Well, guess that's all. I got a class to get to... later all

1) I think that would be a shiny idea. There seems to be a lot of interplay just waiting to come to the surface. Perhaps not the moment where we left off necessarily (as Squee said, no unfinished actions/conversations/etc); more like the gap between Ariel and War Stories - the beginning of War Stories is obviously aftermath of Ariel but WS is a complete story in and of itself.

2)I'll go with the group on this one; however, we need to know in advance what the format will be, so we're not just wandering around wondering where we are in the story (like we did for the first half of this one ). Maybe not the entire outline, Act-by-Act (although that would be shiny, too), but at least an idea of where we're starting, where we're supposed to end up, and some major plot points along the way.

3)At the very least, we'll need to put out a casting call for the role of Mal. Depending on the storyline, we can anticipate needing to cast some guest stars for parts integral to the new plot. (For example, are we going to meet up with Early again? If so, does Succatash want to reprise his role there? Etc.)

Always ready to "Funrun"

Do we need a Mal? I thought Geezer was going to continue with him... maybe I misunderstood.

It was my understanding - and please correct me if I'm wrong, Geezer - that Geezer was planning to carry Mal through the end of the current RP, and then we were going to put out a casting call for a someone to take over Mal in the new RP.

OK ... I DO have a episode idea ...

Not for the mini-series necessarily, but it does involve Simon 'disappearing' for an episode or two, either in the last act of the mini or soon after.

The plot is not complicated, just involved. I have a framework in mind for the story arc, which could be done in a single episode (6acts = appox 600posts). But would be better served as a 2 parter (12 acts = appox.1200 posts).

I'll stop there for now ... ... I don't want to ruin any of the surprise(s). However, I do promise, it will Whedon'esque!

EDIT
I thought we should define the act lengths.

This is my humble submission:

1 Episode = 45 minutes of film length AKA 6 acts which is appox. 600 posts (condidering appox. 100 posts per act}

1 Movie = 120 minutes AKA 12 acts or appox. 1200 posts.

1 Miniseries = 180 minutes of film length, 18 acts which is roughtly 1800 posts.

Sorry, but my mind is stuck in 'scriptwriter' mode.

EDIT
I like Geezers post limits on the teaser and coda, will add them in
