Good morning all, or afternoon... whichever
I just wanted to double check a couple details before I mess something up.
Serenity Valley is on planet Hera, which is controlled by the Alliance right?
and where is New Hokkaido? is that another planet or a place on another planet?

Correct on Serenity Valley.

New Hikido, according to one of the original posts by Humble, is a border/rim world. I'm guessing more Independent- than Alliance-friendly, and more low tech than the Core planets.

Thanks Astriana!

EDIT: Hey, Raven, you can take out the text in those last three posts and leave them blank. Would save space at least.

Teela, your birthday is on March 2nd? MINE TOO!

EDIT: And so it begins... I've been oohing and awing about when I should post Damon's first flashback/dream for a couple days now and as soon as I read Maniac's last post, I knew that the time had come.
Thanks Maniac
And, yes, I did say first, there will be more to come...
The quote technique appeals to me, but let me know if it confuses anyone. and, as I'm sure you've noticed, it's written in past tense. Thought that would be appropriate seeing as they are flashbacks.
Ok, well hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm off to bed.

Squee, that's sure a disturbing dream you are giving to Damon... I had a dream last night that Succatash's dog was in my bed when I went in to go to sleep, his head poking up from under the blanket. I told him he shouldn't be there, and he jumped up and left. Weird.

Curious, what about my last post made you start the dream sequence? Was it the "evils of drink" sermon on the way?

CDC - Co-Director Comment:

HOW TO AVOID REPEAT POSTS:

Okay, Gunrunners, here's one way. If you write your post and click "Post my Response" and you see this message:

Quote:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Transaction (Process ID 68) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction.

/thread.asp, line 512

Do not, I repeat NOT use the "back" button on your browser bar to try clicking "Post my Response" again. REFRESH instead and chances are your post will be there, right where its supposed to be. My theory is that the server just gets a little "lost" sometimes, trying to return to the original thread. I'll be e-mailing Haken with this info as well, see what he has to say.

Also, if you repeat a post (purely by accident, happens to all of us at one time or another), please go back and edit the copies to remove the text. This will shorten the thread and help it load easier for those of us with neanderthal dial-up systems.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled RP.

UPDATE The quote below is Haken's response to my notice about the glitch.

Quote:

Hey Channain,

You're correct. Pretty much all the code I've written for the site aren't error trapped (because I want to see where and how the code trips up), which means that it's not very elegant when something goes awry. That particular error you encountered was caused by lots of people trying to update the thread all at the same time. The code was written to handle such an occurance, but every now and then the number of people trying to update and view the thread exceeds the default I have set.

If it this happens often, please let me know and I'll make an adjustment.

Thanks for letting me know about this.

Haken

Now I must return to watching trasy television - Las Vegas is on tonite!!! What? You don't REALLY think I'm going to let myself get sucked in by quality TV again, do you?
